Today was the first annual celebration of Virginia's First Robotics Day! Thank you to everybody who attending, including Blue Cheese Robotics Team 1086, TALON 540 Robotics, FRC Team 3359 Royal Robotics, Lord of The Bricks, Circuitree, Mary Munford, and Senator Hashmi and Del. David Owens.
We were so excited to have Team 422 alum Ryan Kaplan present a STEMinar to the team sharing his experience and how FIRST and FRC stayed with him throughout his career.
Yesterday was busy for Team 422! We had a great time at the Annual STEM Advocacy Workshop hosted by Robototes! We also set up at our freshman registration to promote FIRST to incoming students!

Last Thursday, our team supported STEM in New Kent by judging in George W. Watkins Elementary School's annual science fair and STEAM night!

Team 422 just had the distinct honor of visiting the Virginia General Assembly today! Every one of our team members did an incredible job bringing attention to, and lobbying for, stem education. Each member shared their own experiences in doing first robotics.

Last week we ran our FLL Offseason Scrimmage for students across Central VA! Students had the chance to learn how to build a competitive FLL bot while also recieving judging practice!
Thank you to all the coaches, parents, and teachers for bringing their students we hope that our recources were helpful!ππ
We are so excited to host this yearβs FLL Offseason Scrimmage! No experience is required and we will be training novice students on how to program and build their robots before the judging round. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions!

Our team had a blast at kickoff this year! A special thank you to all the alumni that came back to help provide our team support as the season starts!!
On December 13th we held our Legislative Open House, inviting state legislators, Richmond City council members, and district school board members to visit our team and learn about FIRST Robotics and how we work to spread the FIRST mission in our community.
We are so grateful to all the legislators who spent their evening with us learning about the importance of STEM education and how they can support STEM in Virginia! ππ
