Protect Your Social Media Privacy: Adjust Your Settings!

Your social media privacy settings are your first line of defense against unwanted access to your personal information. Take a few minutes to review and adjust these settings, it can make a big difference.

Here are a few tips to get started:

-Control Who Sees Your Posts: Limit your audience to friends or specific groups rather than the public.

-Review Tagging Settings: Decide who can tag you in photos and posts, and review tags before they appear on your profile.

-Limit Profile Information Access: Hide personal details like your phone number, location, and email address to keep them private.

-Regularly Check Your Settings: Check which apps and websites that have access to your account, and remove those you no longer use.

**Let’s Talk About MFA and Why It’s Critical for Social Media Security**

In today’s world, protecting your social media accounts is essential—especially with the rise in account takeovers. One of the simplest, most effective ways to safeguard your accounts is by using Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

Here’s how MFA makes a difference:

With MFA, even if someone gets ahold of your password, they still can’t access your account without that extra layer of security. MFA adds an additional verification step—whether it’s a code sent to your phone, an app prompt, or another method—which makes it much harder for attackers to take control.

Account takeovers are more than an inconvenience. They can put your data, contacts, and reputation at risk. By turning on MFA, you’re adding a crucial barrier against unauthorized access. It’s quick to set up, and the security benefits are worth it.

If you haven’t enabled MFA on your social media accounts, now’s the time to do it. Let’s make it that much harder for attackers to get in.

Cybercriminals Exploit DocuSign APIs to Send Fake Invoices 11/05/2024

News of the Week: Hackers Use DocuSign to Send Fake Invoices

Be on the look out for this. Don't fall for it.

"Attackers set up paid DocuSign accounts, enabling them to use authentic templates and brand logos to request document signatures from victims. Many of these fraudulent invoices include accurate product pricing and realistic fees to make them appear genuine. Once victims sign, attackers may request direct payment from organizations or finance departments."

Heads up! Fake and impersonation accounts are everywhere on social media, and they’re getting harder to spot. Scammers are setting up profiles that look just like your friends, family, or even companies you follow. They might:

- Message you, claiming your account is at risk, and ask you to click a “recovery” link that’s actually a scam.
- Copy a friend’s profile picture and name, connect with you, and then ask for personal info or even money.

These accounts look legit but are designed to trick you into sharing info you’d normally keep safe.

Take a moment to double-check before clicking any link or sharing details.
