Need a roommate? Check out this post by Elizabeth Wait of Cohort 4:

24F RTR GRAD (+PETS) SEEKING ROOM/ROOMMATE

Hi, I’m Elizabeth “Liz” Wait, graduate of Cohort 4 of the RTR program and the first cohort of Special Education residents! I’m currently looking for a new place to live and a new roommate (or roommates) and I would love to room with one or more past/current/future residents!

ABOUT ME: I am a 24 years old female and I teach special education biology at Armstrong High School. I moved to Richmond from Durham, NC two years ago, so I still don’t know a lot about the city. I don’t smoke anything or drink, but I don’t care if you do as long as any smoking is done outside. I enjoy the internet, reading, board games, anime, musicals, and SCIENCE. In general I am quiet and spend most of my time in my room on the internet.

LOCATION: I’m looking for a new place, preferably in the East End/Church Hill area close to my school (Armstrong High). If you already have a place and are willing to accept a new roommate with a cat, I would be interested. We could also find a place together!

RENT: I’d like to find a place where rent + utilities is $700 or less per person. Less is better obviously. Cable is not necessary if you want to save more money.

TIME FRAME: My lease is up June 17. I know Cohort 6 begins classes May 23, so move-in dates are flexible.

KIDS: I don’t have kids nor am I planning to, but if you do I’m open to that.

PETS: I have a class pet rabbit that lives with me on weekends and school holidays. I also will be getting a cat (a must have for me), but since I don’t have one now you can help me pick one out! Any pets you have are welcome – the more the merrier!

ROOMMATE “PREFERENCES”: Any gender is fine – I’ve lived with both before. Don’t smoke indoors and help clean up when necessary. How clean I am usually depends on how clean/messy my roommate is – I’m very adaptable! I like to know in advance if you’re having people staying overnight or are planning a party because I don’t like a lot of noise.. I’m afraid I am not 420 friendly.

FURNITURE: I have my own bedroom furniture, TV and Blu-Ray player, small table with two chairs, and dishes if necessary. I do not have a couch or coffee table, so if you do that’s a plus! I have my own router for Wi-Fi.

CONTACT ME: I don’t have a Facebook (just a slightly-outdated LinkedIn) but I constantly check my e-mail. E-mail me at [email protected]!
