Thank you Cardinal Hill Encompass Health Lexington for hosting our Level I Occupational Therapy students this summer. The students recently wrapped up their first fieldwork where they had the opportunity to get hands on experience with transfers, interventions, assessments, group therapy and more. Thanks to all the health care practitioners and patients who allowed us to be part of your care.

Thank you to Gwen Danhauer and Karen Enlow, who took the time to share their knowledge and experience with lymphedema certification and complete decongestive therapy. Our graduate occupational therapy students practiced manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) and compression bandaging, and really enjoyed the hands-on lab.

Thank you to Rusty Jarboe, Michelle Coffey, Catherine Green, and Superior Van & Mobility - Lexington for hosting our EKU Occupational Therapy graduate students!

Our students had the unique opportunity to explore adaptive driving equipment and vehicles, learn about the role of the Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS), and gain valuable insight into the comprehensive driver evaluation process. Experiences like these help bridge classroom learning with real-world clinical practice and prepare our future occupational therapists to support clients in achieving safe, independent community mobility.

We are so grateful for your time, expertise, and commitment to educating the next generation of OTs!

We are heartbroken to share that, Dr. MaryEllen Thompson, a retired EKU OT faculty member and dear friend passed away this past weekend. Dr. Thompson was a member of EKU faculty from 2008 until her retirement. She taught pediatric content and served as the Graduate Coordinator for many years. We share our deepest sympathy with her friends and family. She will be missed.
This is a post that Dr. Thompson's daughter shared on Facebook with some lovely photos of Dr. Thompson with the people and occupations that she loved the most.
