✨Poetry in First Grade!✨

Today students in Mrs. Vela’s 1st grade class were working hard in their poetry station! Poems and nursery rhymes are more than just fun to read - they’re powerful tools for building foundational reading skills.

Through working with nursery rhymes students are
⭐️ working on phonics skills
⭐️ visualizing and creating mental images
⭐️ rhyming and recognizing word relationships
⭐️ building fluency, expression and language
