: TOMORROW The Oasis says Happy Birthday to Andrew! ...without rain!

After hearing so much for so long about this amazing married musical couple, I finally got to experience them in person at the Dogwood Dell Festival for the Arts in June. It took exactly zero seconds to immediately know that we had to have them in the garden this season.

And here we are...

Through two cancellations due to rain, TTiara & Andrew's alternative folk pop has made it to the FINAL concert of the season. *whew*

She sings like it's floating from the treetops. He plays like it's rooted from the tree trunks. Sounds like destiny to me.

Our third and last chance to see this uniquely talented married musical duo during this season of The Oasis is next week. If again that rain acts up (acts "down"??) I've already told them they will be on the 2025 season post haste.

Lead by Carl Lester-El's guitar and the literal drum master godson of The Godfather, Marcus EShadd Parker (IFKYK). With Alvin Spratley digging a hole in the bottom of his bass, JL Harris's freakin' weekend fingers on keys and the dynamic Corey El supporting the hooks on vocals...it's a garden par-tay!

THE OFFICIAL NEWS: We will return with husband and wife duo Tiara & Andrew on Thursday, August 8th with a proper, full length introduction of their unique fabulousness in tow.

Now, I shall remind you that The FUNK Masters are returning next week! We hope that the floating gray matter will cooperate and keep it's high quality H2O to itself!

From front-facing and welcoming the community to behind-the-scenes securing the admin. Qhile I'm hopping around with a mic-n-my-hand, these are the sistas that smoothly move the movement forward. I am SO grateful for these two.

To paraphrase Ras Ralph Crucial Fiya DuJour said as we three and a few of the fellas strolled Albany after the show: "I have never been on the road with [a group of] women before. Y'all soften the space [because] men are so 'RAH RAH' *makes like an aggressive, double f***y motion* It feels real good."

Sista Ayanna McMullen and Sista Shani Bakari, it's been a year since One Drop was established. You've eased the weight and my challenges. At this point, I would neva...neva EVA neva want to do it without you. I give all the thanks for you.

: THURSDAY! The Oasis: a High Noon Summer Concert Series presents the lovely Jenny Buttafly Vazquez Santamaria & The Sabor Trio! Supporting Buttafly's sweet vocals is her husband Gabriel Santamaria strumming guitar and Chris Sclafani blowing saxophone. FREE.

Join us in the lush fountain garden of The Valentine Museum, 1015 E Clay St, Richmond, VA 23219 at 12pm and enjoy a 60 minute concert. This is the second of only FOUR concerts this season so be sure to catch one!

Things to know:

--BYOBag lunch or purchase it at one of the delicious food trucks when you arrive early with your friends!
