Literacy Night was a huge hit!! So grateful for our teachers who organized activities to engage students and encourage literacy. 📘📚📙 We had a great turnout for this event, coupled with a PTA Association meeting!
Looking forward to our Book Fair coming up April 20-24th - we still need volunteers! Please reach out if you are available.

We had two ✨ incredible events ✨ over the last month that brought together our Michelle Obama School community. 💙 Thank you to everyone who came out and participated in Art Night and our Plug and Play Filmscreening event! Big thanks to our teachers and administrators who helped organized! 🎨🎬 Next up: Scholastic Book Fair from April 20-24 and Math Night on April 29th! 📚📘➗
Happy April Tigers! Join us again tonight for the Part 2 screening of "Screenagers!"
We will provide dinner at 5:30 followed by the film at 6. The documentary discusses the link between the usage of digital devices and the rise of mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression. Spanish translation and child supervision will be provided to have everyone in on this important topic. Hope to see you all there!

A BIG thank you to everyone who came out and walked with us last Friday for Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day! We had an amazing turnout from our school community celebrating an important day in history. Huge shout out to PTA President Lori Anahata for leading the charge and amping up the crowd. Hey Tigers, hope you all had a great Veteran's Day and welcome back to class!
We invite you to join us this Friday for the annual Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day. This walk honors Ruby's historic steps as one of the first Black students to integrate into an all-white school in 1960 and is done to continue the movement to end racism and bullying.
Please meet us at Solano Playlot (off of 38th and Solano) at 7:40am to enjoy breakfast and participate in rally chants. Our walk to school will start at 8:10am and will end with a group photo to commemorate the community support on this special day. We are asking that everyone wears purple to show your support! In the event it rains that morning, we will pivot.
We hope to see you all there!

¡Hola Tigres! Esperamos que hayan tenido un excelente Día de los Veteranos y ¡bienvenidos de nuevo a clase!
Los invitamos a unirse a nosotros este viernes para la Caminata Anual Ruby Bridges a la Escuela. Esta caminata honra los pasos históricos de Ruby, una de las primeras estudiantes negras en integrarse a una escuela exclusivamente blanca en 1960, y se realiza para continuar el movimiento para acabar con el racismo y el acoso escolar.
Nos vemos en Solano Playlot (en la calle 38 y Solano) a las 7:40am para disfrutar de un desayuno y participar en los cánticos de la marcha. Nuestra caminata a la escuela comenzará a las 8:10am y terminará con una foto grupal para conmemorar el apoyo de la comunidad en este día tan especial. ¡Les pedimos a todos que vistan de morado para mostrar su apoyo! En caso de lluvia esa mañana, cambiaremos de actividad.

Aaanndd it's a wrap! This year's Harvest Festival was a great success! A HUGE thank you to all the PTA members, teachers and parents who volunteered and contributed their time and effort to making it a fun experience for our Tigers and their families. Big shout to Nicole Miner for leading the charge! Through it all we exceeded our financial goal to put more money into a future event!! Stay tuned for our future events including the Holiday Raffle!

Tomorrow's the big day! Are you all ready?! As a reminder, parents are invited to watch our Tigers show off their costumes at the Halloween Parade at 11am (come earlier for a good view!) and our Harvest Festival will follow. Please note you must sign into Verkada to visit campus tomorrow.
Please come prepared to buy tickets (25¢ each) to partake in the activities that our teachers have worked so hard on! TK and Kindergarten students must have a guardian accompany them in order for them to be a part of the festival but other students are able to roam independently to find an activity that interests them.
We're still looking for parent volunteers to assist during the festival so please find someone with an orange badge before or during the event if you're available! Can't wait to see you all there! Happy Halloween/Dia De Los Mu***os! 👻 🎃

¡Mañana es el gran día! ¿Están todos listos? Les recordamos a los padres que están invitados a ver a nuestros Tigres lucir sus disfraces en el Desfile de Halloween a las 11:00 a. m. (¡Lleguen temprano para verlo bien!). Después, tendremos nuestro Festival de la Cosecha. Recuerden que deben registrarse en Verkada para visitar el campus mañana.
Por favor, vengan preparados para comprar boletos (25¢ cada uno) para participar en las actividades en las que nuestros maestros han trabajado con tanto esmero. Los alumnos de Transición a Kínder y Kínder deben estar acompañados por un adulto responsable para poder participar en el festival, pero los demás alumnos pueden moverse libremente para encontrar una actividad que les interese.
Todavía buscamos padres voluntarios para ayudar durante el festival, así que, si tienen disponibilidad, ¡busquen a alguien con una insignia naranja antes o durante el evento! ¡Los esperamos! ¡Feliz Halloween/Día de los Mu***os! 👻 🎃
