Spiders in D.C. spent July 11 exploring the Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens, learning about Marjorie Merriweather Post and the legacy she built as a pioneering businesswoman, philanthropist, and collector.

Jenny Oufnac Waggoner '94, Lisa Rodemann '95, Elisa Peppelman Taylor '95, and Tracey Flynn Portillo '95 recently returned to campus for a walk down memory lane. The Alpha Phi sisters enjoyed lunch at D-Hall, revisited their favorite campus spots, and were amazed by everything that's changed while appreciating the friendships that haven't.

Ben Mason was waiting at the finish line to pick up three fellow Class of 1985 Spiders and Pika Brothers, Craig Manchester, Scott Broderick, and Brian Bischoff, after they completed the challenging Newfound Gap to Fontana Dam section of the Appalachian Trail, including Clingmans Dome, the trail's highest point.

Jeff Marks, R'79, and Pete Engels, R'88, got an unexpected surprise while having dinner in Hyannis, MA: Charles Barkley was seated at the next table!
Before he left, they reminded Barkley of Richmond's 72-71 NCAA Tournament victory over Auburn in 1984. He was gracious, spoke fondly of Bill Flye and the 1984 Spiders, and was happy to stop for a photo.
