We are now accepting applications for our Internship Only and Graduate Degree + Internship program option for the 2026-2027 application cycle in DICAS. We have openings in our January 2027, August 2027, January 2028, August 2028, and even our January 2029 cohorts! Fall cycle applications are due October 1st and Spring cycle applications on January 15th.

And the award goes to...Rachel Hobson! Rachel was selected by the August 2025 interns as "Preceptor of the Year" and presented with her award at graduation by now-graduated interns, Julia and Skylar. Congratulations, Rachel!! So well-deserved!

Our interns are privileged to be able to participate in Lifestyle Coach training in order to lead Diabetes Prevention Program classes offered through VCU Health. Anna, Sarah, Sopitha, Charlotte, and Suzanne are pictured taking part in the Lifestyle Coach training earlier this summer.

Senior interns, Sarah and Suzanne, had a great time volunteering at Camp WannaCure, an annual summer day camp for children with diabetes. They *may* have had more fun than the kids!😊

One of our elective rotations offers an opportunity to work with Karen Wilder, RD and the residents at Cedarfield Retirement Community. Senior intern, Julia, enjoyed a fantastic rotation there. Here, she is pictured hosting yogurt parfait and snack bars for the residents which were a huge hit!
