💚 Our Dennis staff alumni community has lost some good ones. 💚 Former teachers Damon Moore and Gwen Carey have both passed away recently. Our Bulldog Family sends condolences to their families and friends. See their obituaries in the comments. 🐾

RCS Schools will be closed again Friday!

RICHMOND COMMUNITY SCHOOLS AND HEAD START — CLOSED FRIDAY, AUGUST 14, 2026

📚 STUDENTS: There will be no e-learning or Canvas assignments.
👥 STAFF: Please do not report to work unless directed by your supervisor.

Closing schools on Friday will provide our facilities teams with the time needed to address facility-related matters throughout the district.

This additional day will help ensure that our buildings are safe and ready to welcome students, faculty, and staff back to school on Monday, August 17, 2026.

Thank you to our RCS families and staff for your patience and understanding as we work to provide safe learning environments across Richmond Community Schools.

Richmond Community Schools and Head Start will be CLOSED Thursday, August 13, 2026, due to flooded road conditions and the Level 3 Travel Warning in Wayne County.

🎒 STUDENTS: There will be no e-learning or Canvas assignments.
👥 STAFF: Do not report to work due to the Level 3 Travel Warning.

Please avoid unnecessary travel and use extreme caution around flooded roads. Never drive through standing or moving water.

The safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. ❤️
