Junior Assembly Cotillion

Junior Assembly Cotillion We guide RVA's 6th-9th graders through manners and fun, inclusive dancing to build self-confidence

Junior Assembly Cotillion offers social training through dancing face-to-face and one-on-one in an atmosphere of fun. Participation in cotillion is open to boys and girls in grades 6 through 9. Each grade level has seven Friday or Saturday night theme dances each season, with each succeeding year building on the foundation of the year before. Junior Assembly Cotillion enrolls students from public,

private, and parochial schools all over the Richmond metropolitan area. In August 2022, JAC was voted "Best Youth Dance Instruction" for Richmond magazine's Best & Worst edition.

Grateful for this JAC crew (and a few missing) who have become like family. ❤️ We gathered Tuesday night to catch up, do some training for the upcoming season and staff our dance nights.

These ladies are so passionate about helping your young people become their best selves and shining their light 💡 brightly to others. We can’t wait to welcome our students in a few months and build self confidence! 🤩

Parents, take note! Snapchat may expose our young people to disturbing and inappropriate content, and even recommend it to them!

At least five states are suing Snapchat, claiming it exposes children to inappropriate content. The company says it tries to block those kinds of posts for kids but in a new research report, exclusively obtained by NBC News, experts found not only does Snapchat allow kids to view disturbing content,...

🇺🇸 Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸
Today we celebrate 250 years of freedom, courage, and the enduring spirit that has shaped our nation.

At Junior Assembly Cotillion, we’re grateful for the opportunity to help prepare the next generation of young leaders by teaching timeless values like respect, kindness, integrity, gratitude, and consideration for others. These qualities strengthen not only our communities but also the future of our country.

As you’ve gathered with family and friends to enjoy parades, cookouts, fireworks, and cherished traditions, we hope you’ve also taken a moment to reflect on those who have sacrificed to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

From our Junior Assembly Cotillion family to yours, we wish you a joyful, safe, and memorable Independence Day as we celebrate this historic milestone together.❤️🤍💙 Happy 4th of July—and Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸

Parents of rising 6th & 7th grade cotillion girls -

Just a friendly reminder that the first of 3 glove sales will be THIS SUNDAY, June 14th from 1-3pm at owner and director Liz Stanko’s home:
9307 Bandock Road
Henrico 23229

The other two glove sales are noted below in case you can’t make it Sunday.
Thursday, July 16th 11am-1pm
Tuesday, August 18th 5-7pm

Feel free to stop by anytime during these times to purchase 1 or 2 pair for your daughter. $12 per pair, and one size fits most. Cash or check payable to Junior Assembly Cotillion only.

These are the only three glove sales we will have before cotillion starts the weekend of September 11-13, so please make every effort to attend one...or send a friend. Gloves will not be sold at any of the dances. You are welcome to purchase short white gloves elsewhere, but we don’t know of places that sell short white gloves like these. We offer this as a convenience for our cotillion families.

Cotillion will be here before we know it. We are looking forward to having your daughters attend our 82nd anniversary season. Enjoy your summer! ☀️

It's time for a Testimonial Tuesday! 🎉

This testimony comes from an email we received last week from one of our former students who later became a junior assistant with JAC. Now he is getting his Masters in Aerospace Engineering. Thank you, Calvin, for your thoughtful words and high praise! We are thrilled to hear you're thriving. Keep dancing and shooting for the stars!❤️🚀💫

"This October, my friend and I started taking Ballroom dance classes, as I never forgot about my time at Cotillion, the joy dancing brought me, and the sense of community. We have been taking classes every week, and have learned so much! For the competition, we danced the Waltz, but we have learned many others, the Tango, Foxtrot, Swing, and Salsa! Since I learned all these dances at Cotillion, it was so easy to pick them back up again and truly appreciate everything that I learned.

The program you all offer is truly one of a kind, and I know it has changed the lives of many people. I always tell my friends about the fun I had and how privileged I was to be in Cotillion for many years! I will never forget the kindness of the team, the fun memories, and the dances we learned. The impact it had on me is immeasurable, and I hope you all know the immense positive influence it has on everyone. Thank you for all that you do for the community and for the next generation. Y'all are helping to support and raise wonderful people who will help bring light into the world!

I will always keep Cotillion in my heart and never forget how it changed me. It instilled in me a love of ballroom dancing and a commitment to being the best person I can be!" ~Calvin G.

We are hard at work planning for a fabulous 82nd cotillion season and have some spots for boys still available in all grades. Did you miss the registration deadline for Junior Assembly Cotillion but would still like to send your son? Did your son attend in 6th grade but hasn’t attended since or is brand new to our program? It’s not too late! The season starts in mid-September and will be here before we know it.

We wanted to let you know that we still have limited spots available for boys in all grades and groups, and a growing list of girls on our waiting lists that would love the opportunity to attend as well! Don’t miss out on this opportunity for your son to attend with friends, build important skills to develop social self-confidence and manners, and make memories to last a lifetime!

If you would still like for your son to join his friends for cotillion this fall, please reach out to Liz Stanko [email protected] for registration information.
