It was an honor to dedicate Gen. James Rainey Way on the Campus Beautiful last Saturday.

Gen. Rainey’s path from student and Army ROTC cadet to four-star general is one we are proud to celebrate. His more than 35 years of service and leadership have made an impact far beyond this institution.

We are proud to call you an EKU Colonel, Gen. Rainey, and grateful that this road will serve as a lasting reminder of your legacy and your connection to the University where that journey began.

For a school known for excellence in healthcare and veteran education, it just makes sense for our alumni to land in veteran healthcare. For example, meet Dakota Shively, the Administrative Officer for the Radiology Department in Lexington's U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs! While at , he landed an internship thanks to a professor's connections, and the rest is history. It's just one of countless examples of the support our students receive while on their college path. 🔬👨🏼‍⚕️
