Richmond Waldorf School is a place where all children flourish. Our pre-K-Grade 8 education provides children with an unhurried environment, and nurtures imagination and creativity balanced with academic rigor. Students benefit from classrooms of only 12 -16 students, guided by teachers who progress through the grades with their class to foster a strong student-teacher-parent partnership. Our camp

Last week, the 4th grade spend four days camping in False Cape State Park. Their teacher, Mrs. Volpicella, shared of the experience:

“Students biked nearly 30 miles over the four day trip, and made all their own meals. Through camping and biking, they were able to experience the Virginia wildlife and wetlands they have spent this year studying. The trip required team-work which strengthened their bond as a class.”

A look back at the 3rd grade’s week-long trip to Hawthorne Valley Farm! Of the experience, their teacher Mrs. Bullington shared:

“In late April the 3rd grade travelled by Amtrak to a working farm and education center in the Hudson Valley of New York. Together they spent the week immersed in daily farm life: feeding and milking cows; watching sheep shearing; making bread, butter and cheese; cooking and serving family style meals; and riding ponies - among many other fun activities that blended art, science, and history. Students came away from this amazing experience with a new sense of independence and confidence.”
