Thursday evening, our MAT in Teacher Education students gathered for a mixer to meet their colleagues and connect with faculty, staff, clinical educators, and advisors!

We’re proud to welcome these students to our award-winning MAT program, where SOE is preparing the next generation of exceptional educators. 🍎📚

Preservice teachers in Dr. Jamie-Marie Miller's 𝐄𝐌𝐄 𝟑𝟎𝟏 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 put collaboration into action as they worked in teams to build the tallest free-standing tower using only straws and masking tape.

Along the way, they explored key geometric ideas, problem-solving, communication, and the power of working together.

Who knew geometry could reach such heights?

📚 Our LIB 301 students joined Dr. Emily Zuccaro at the Model Laboratory School library for some hands-on learning! Students explored the library’s organization, created Book Spine Self-Portraits, and completed a scavenger hunt designed by Mandy Williams, school librarian. A fun way to discover books, build library skills, and experience the possibilities of a school library! 🔎📖

A conference highlight was the opportunity to hear Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Jacqueline Coleman discuss the vital role educator preparation programs play in developing the next generation of teachers and educational leaders across the Commonwealth.

Congratulations to the educators selected for the fifth cohort of the Kentucky Innovative Teacher Fellowship! 🎉

EKU is proud to partner with the Kentucky Department of Education to support Kentucky's teacher leaders. Through this partnership, fellows have the opportunity to earn 9 graduate credit hours through EKU while developing the knowledge and leadership skills to make an even greater impact in their schools and communities.
