I’ll be honest, I didn’t capture a ton of moments from today because it was a day reserved for connection and conversation as we ended the summer program. The puddles were definitely utilized from the storms the past couple of nights. I brought some boats and pirates out at the request of the students. Some friends decided to “mow” their grass. Most of the class was spent playing and creating as usual. I am so thankful for my summer students, this was truly a wonderful group of kiddos! Thank you for making my summer so fun! ☀️☀️☀️

Good luck to all of the children and staff members of our schools this week as they start their school year. They are miracle workers for our communities and we should not take them for granted. Teachers are the most dedicated, sincere, hard-working, selfless, thoughtful, and kindest people I have ever met. I could go on forever, but just know I’m thinking of you, I see you, and you are amazing. Also sweet children, I hope you have the most exciting adventure this year and continue to love learning and yourself! ❤️

I opened the Art Shed for the school kiddos today and before I knew it, they were all designing and creating their own boats! When I tell you they worked on these boats almost the enter class, I am not exaggerating. They would run out and play with them for a minute or two and then run back to add or make adjustments. If something would become loose, or fall off, they would brainstorm on how to fortify the piece. My role today was entirely support, encouragement and supply gatherer. Haha! How cool are these kids?!

Without even realizing it, the students created their very own rainforest with layers this week! They started this structure on Tuesday as a parking garage and turned it into a jungle today. We sorted our animals into the four layers on our art piece and the older kids labeled the diagram. We identified the same four layers on their jungle creation! These kids are leading their own discoveries and I love to be a part of it! 🐆🦥🦋🐒
