Introduction to Brightwheel

Dear Parents,

We have recently signed up to use Brightwheel at our center. Brightwheel is an online application that primarily helps teachers communicate with you, but also offers you the ability to make online payments. Even if you choose not to make payments via Brightwheel, you will need to download the app to know what’s happening in your child’s classroom!

Brightwheel is the industry leader in early education, proven to save time for staff, allowing for measurably more time with students, while also delivering a much better experience for parents.

Easy steps to follow:
1 .Create a free Brightwheel account. When you receive an invitation via email or text, please create a free parent account using either the web or mobile app. Make sure to use the same email address or cell phone number that the invitation was sent to.

2. Confirm your child’s profile. You will see your child’s profile after you create an account - you can confirm information such as birthday, allergies, and additional contacts. If you do not see your child’s profile, please contact us with the email address or phone number you used to sign up.

3 .Set your account preferences. You can adjust your notification preferences within your profile settings on the app.

Once you create an account you should see your child ’s profile. Shortly thereafter, you will begin receiving daily updates along with invoices for your child ’s tuition and fees.
After creating your account, there is an option to sign up for payments through Brightwheel. You can link your bank account or a credit card to Brightwheel. We are still accepting credit cards, cash and checks at the center.

We are hiring for our mobile infant classrooms. We are currently looking for an assistant teacher for our mobile infant classrooms. The candidates should be comfortable working with children 12 months to 20 months. We are looking for someone who can contribute ideas and be part of the entire program at Treasured Friends Daycare.

Treasured Friends Daycare offers a great work environment and flexibility in scheduling. This position is for 30-40 hours a week. We are looking for this teacher to be able to learn quickly and step into a role in our classroom. The candidate must be 19 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED to meet the role of an assistant teacher.

Job Purpose:
Nurtures children by developing and providing educational programs; keeping parents informed.

Duties:
* Stimulates emotional, intellectual, and social growth of children by developing and directing educational programs and activities tailored to assigned class.
* Provides safe environment by maintaining orderly, clean, and appealing facilities; removing known safety hazards.
* Encourages children's participation by providing interactive activities.
* Informs staff and parents of curriculum by preparing and submitting lesson plans; posting schedules and curriculum outlines.
* Keeps parents informed by posting parent information in the classroom; maintaining and sharing records of child's progress, attendance, and behavior.
* Encourages development of children's self-control by utilizing classroom management and modeling techniques.
* Encourages consistency of service by maintaining communications with parents and staff.
* Protects families by keeping personal information confidential.
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; online training
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

We are hiring for our young preschool classrooms. We are currently looking for a lead and assistant young preschool teacher. The candidates should be comfortable working with young preschoolers. We are looking for this teacher to be able to learn quickly and step into a role in our classroom. The candidate must be 19 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED to meet the role of an assistant teacher. The Lead teacher candidates needs to have the ability to meet state requirements for education and experience. One of the following is required: (1) Associate’s degree or higher in early childhood education or child development (2) Valid child development associate credential with 480 hours (3) High school diploma/ GED with 12 semester hours with 960 hours of working with children (4) High school diploma/ GED with A combination of: 12 semester hours and/or 18 CEUs to equal 180 clock hours with 1,920 hours of working with children (5) High school diploma/ GED with A combination of: 6 semester hours and/or 9 CEUs to equal 90 clock hours of training through childcare classes.

Dear Parents

We are in the process of calling parents but I feel this is a faster way to reach multiple families. Treasured Friends Daycare has had a staff member test positive for Covid. This staff member developed a fever this morning and we asked her to remain out of the center and to get tested. Their results have come back positive. We have notified all close contacts in our nursery and mobile room and they will be quarantining until 11/26/2020. The classrooms will be sanitized and cleaned before children return on Monday. I am so sorry that this has occurred. We have done our very best to maintain the Covid guidelines especially with the increase in Covid cases in Michigan. I want to be as transparent with our parents as possible. Please know if you have any questions you can always call or email me. I will be at the center tomorrow and Sunday so if you leave a message, I will get back with you. Thanks for every one’s support and understanding.
