A lifelong educator, researcher, mentor, and science advocate, Dr. Governor brings more than 32 years of classroom experience spanning elementary, middle, and high school science education. From leading science learning communities to advancing innovative teaching practices, her career has been dedicated to supporting educators and inspiring curiosity in students.

Currently a Professor of Science Education at the University of North Georgia, Dr. Governor has also served NSTA in numerous leadership roles over the years, including Division Director, District Director, committee leadership, and now President.
