Did you know? Roughly 90% of a child's brain develops by age 5. That's why the songs, the stories, and the everyday conversations in these early years matter so much. It's also why we take our job here at New Direction seriously.

Teacher Tip: when a child is upset, try naming the feeling before offering a fix. "You're frustrated because the tower fell" helps children build emotional vocabulary, a skill that supports social-emotional growth and future reading comprehension. Feelings first, fixes second.

**Every big dream begins with a little learner. 💙**
At New Direction Childcare, we believe childhood is more than a season—it's the foundation for a lifetime of learning.
Every story read, every block stacked, every question asked, and every smile shared helps build confidence, curiosity, and character.
When families choose New Direction Childcare, they're choosing a place where children are encouraged to explore, grow, and discover just how amazing they are.
✨ Because today's little learners become tomorrow's leaders.

💙 From a Teacher's Heart
Sometimes the biggest lessons don't come from a lesson plan.
They happen in the quiet moments... when one child notices another needs help, shares a crayon without being asked, or reminds a friend, "You can use mine."
Those small acts of kindness may seem ordinary, but they're shaping compassionate hearts, building confidence, and teaching children how to care for the people around them.
At New Direction Childcare & Learning Center, we celebrate every letter learned, every number counted, and every moment that helps a child become thoughtful, kind, and confident.
Because long after the crayons are put away, the lessons of kindness stay with them for a lifetime. 💙

A gentle reminder that some things can wait. ❤️
One day…
The toys won’t be scattered across the living room.
The fingerprints won’t cover the windows.
The little shoes won’t be waiting by the front door.
Those things that sometimes make a home feel messy…
Are also the things that make it beautifully alive.
So today, let the laundry wait another ten minutes.
🧸 Build the blanket fort.
📚 Read the extra story.
💃 Dance in the kitchen.
The chores will still be there.
Childhood won’t.
❤️ You’re doing better than you think.

💭 "Why is the sky blue?"
🐦 "Why do birds fly?"
🍪 "Why can't I have cookies for breakfast?"
If you've answered the same question five times today... welcome to the club. 😄
The truth is, all those endless "Why?" questions aren't interruptions—they're signs that a child's brain is hard at work making connections. 🧠✨
Every answer builds vocabulary. 📚
Every conversation strengthens critical thinking. 💡
Every "Let's find out together" reminds them that learning is an adventure, not just something that happens in a classroom. 🌎❤️
So the next time you hear one more "Why?"...
Take a deep breath. Smile. 😊
You're not just answering a question.
You're helping raise a lifelong learner. 🌱
💙 Curiosity is where confidence begins.

This Fourth of July, let's celebrate more than fireworks.
There’s something special about watching childhood in the summertime.
Barefoot races through the backyard.
Sticky popsicle smiles.
The sound of laughter floating through the neighborhood long after the sun begins to set.
These moments remind us that freedom isn't only something we celebrate in our nation's history.
It's something we experience in everyday life.
The freedom to dream.
To explore.
To ask questions.
To become exactly who God created each child to be.
As we gather with family and friends this Independence Day, may we also celebrate the gift of childhood—the opportunity to create memories, nurture curiosity, and raise the next generation with love, kindness, and hope.
From all of us at New Direction Childcare & Learning Center, we wish you a safe, joyful, and meaningful Independence Day.
Happy Fourth of July!

A Moment with Laura | July Edition
Before We Begin This Month…
A few thoughts from Director Laura Foots.
If you’ve ever found yourself saying, “Slow down,” to your child…
There’s a good chance life has been asking you to do the very same thing.
Summer has a way of reminding us that the best moments usually aren’t the ones we planned.
They’re the popsicles that melt too fast. The walks that take longer than expected. The bedtime stories that somehow turn into two.
After more than 25 years of serving children and families, I’ve learned that childhood isn’t made up of extraordinary days.
It’s built through ordinary moments repeated with love.
That’s the heart behind our July theme, Growing Together.
Throughout this month, we’ll be sharing stories, parenting encouragement, child development insights, and simple reminders that celebrate the beauty of everyday life with children.
My hope is that somewhere in our sharing, you’ll find a thought that makes you smile, a reminder that brings you peace, or an idea that helps you enjoy this season just a little more.
Thank you for allowing New Direction Childcare & Learning Center to be part of your family’s journey.
We’re grateful to grow alongside you.
With Gratitude,
Laura Foots Director

It's funny...
We spend so much time teaching our children that we sometimes forget they're teaching us too.
Maybe your little one reminded you to laugh a little louder.
To slow down.
To ask more questions.
To celebrate the little things.
Children have a beautiful way of helping us see the world differently.
So we're curious...
What's one thing your child taught YOU this week?
Share it in the comments—we'd love to read your stories. 💬
💙 After more than 25 years serving families, we've learned that some of life's greatest lessons come from the smallest teachers.
