Nothing beats seeing hard work pay off ๐Ÿง๐Ÿ“š

Today, students at Providence Middle School who passed ALL of their SOL tests were rewarded with Kona Ice, and the reactions were priceless! ๐Ÿ˜† Some students were completely shocked when they found out they passed every single test, while others proudly celebrated all the studying, determination, and long days that led up to this moment.

From nervous test days to Kona Ice celebrations, today was a reminder that hard work really does pay off. We are so proud of these students for pushing themselves and finishing the school year strong! ๐Ÿ’›

Mrs. Harrelson took her Earth Science students out with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation over the last two days for a hands-on experience exploring the biotic and abiotic factors of the James River, including water quality and aquatic organisms. They reported back that the James River is happy and healthy!

Todayโ€™s chorus concert was a beautiful way to close out the school year ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’› Our students ended the performance with a special tribute to Mrs. Rose to honor her memory and the impact she made through music and love for her students.

So proud of our chorus students for the heart and emotion they poured into todayโ€™s performance. A truly meaningful ending to the year. ๐ŸŒน

Our students explored real threats facing the Chesapeake Bay through creative research projects and presentations. ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’ง

From climate change and air pollution to agricultural runoff and littering, students learned how human actions impact water quality, wildlife, and the environment around us. Proud of our students for using education and awareness to inspire change for the future. ๐ŸŒฑโ™ป๏ธ

As Chromebook collection wraps up at Providence Middle School, itโ€™s a good reminder that learning doesnโ€™t stop when screens are put away. The remainder of the school year is a great time for students to reconnect with simple things like reading books, journaling, drawing, spending time outdoors, practicing creativity, and having real conversations with friends. Sometimes the best growth happens away from a device.

May has already been a busy and meaningful month at Providence Middle School! From celebrating School Lunch Hero Day on May 1, to Teacher Appreciation Week, and Nurses Week, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible people who help keep our school running each and every day.

To our cafeteria staff, teachers, and school nurse, thank you for the care, patience, dedication, and love you pour into our students daily. Your impact goes far beyond the classroom and does not go unnoticed. Providence is a stronger and better place because of each of you. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค

A special thank you as well to Mary Kay๏ฟผ for stopping by to pamper our staff with hand exfoliating treatments before lunch. Such a thoughtful touch during a week focused on appreciating those who give so much to others!
