Happy Mother’s Day! A big thank you to the all Salesian moms and mother figures for everything you do to support our students, faculty, and staff. We know we would not have come this far without you, and we appreciate you more than you know. Wishing you a beautiful Mother’s Day today, and every day!

Salesian students, parents, and faculty are currently in Rome on pilgrimage for Easter Break. They attended the Easter Sunday Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica where Pope Francis’ Easter Homily was read. After the Mass ended, Pope Francis shared the traditional “Urbi et Orbi” message and blessing. Both in his homily and message, he reminded us to anchor our hope in Christ. Drawing on the themes for the Jubilee Year of Hope, Pope Francis reminded us that “Hope does not disappoint” and that the risen Christ is the true source of our hope and our joy. After the blessing, Pope Francis rode around throughout the piazza in the popemobile to greet the people. Our Salesian pilgrims were less than 10 feet away from him. It is truly an amazing blessing to have been in the presence of the Pope, to hear his words of hope and encouragement, and to receive his apostolic blessing. In the following days, the Salesian students will view the Pope’s body and pay their respects as well as join their prayers with the Church for a truly remarkable, humble, and holy servant of God. May Pope Francis rest in the peace of Christ.
