This Week in Biology Lab – Lessons 16–20
🌟 Lesson 16: Living & Nonliving
We learned to tell the difference between things that are alive and things that are not. Children sorted and explored items to practice identifying what needs food, water, and air to live.
🌱 Lesson 17: Growing & Changing
We explored how plants and animals grow and change over time. The children sang “Growing Song” and played with activities like Grow, Grow, Grow to see how things develop.
🐾 Lesson 18: Adaptation
The children discovered how animals use special body parts or behaviors to survive. We read and discussed examples of how creatures adapt to their environments.
🦠 Lesson 19: Germs
This lesson focused on germs—what they are, how they spread, and how we can protect ourselves. We designed our own “germs,” played counting games, and made Blood Cell Bracelets to learn about how our bodies fight sickness.
🌍 Lesson 20: Ecology
To wrap up the week, we explored how everything in nature is connected. The children learned about recycling, protecting the earth, and why caring for our environment keeps both people and animals healthy.
💡 Key Takeaway
This week, our young scientists discovered how living things grow, change, and adapt—and how we can all do our part to stay healthy and care for our world!

Hi Providers,
I have a question,
That a parent brought to my attention.
They mentioned that we should refer to sunscreen as "medicine" because that's how some other providers describe it in their parent handbook.
What are your thoughts on this?
Thank you
