Chesterfield schools and school division offices will be closed Thursday, Feb. 20, and all CCPS activities are canceled.
🔸Building operations supervisors and facilities staff should report at noon.
🔸Other 12-month employees should continue to be available as needed for communication from their direct supervisor.

The School Board work session, business meeting and public hearings on the Superintendent's proposed FY 2026 Financial Plan and the proposed Capital Improvement Plan scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 19 will be rescheduled to Tuesday, Feb. 25, beginning at 3 p.m., in the Public Meeting Room (10001 Iron Bridge Road).

Chesterfield County Public Schools will operate on a regular schedule on Thursday, Feb. 13.

We are aware that remaining power outages in some areas are impacting a small number of schools. We have been in direct contact with Dominion Energy; their crews are working on these outages and they have shared that power is expected to be restored in all schools before tomorrow morning.

If any issues remain tomorrow morning, further information will be shared directly with families and staff at the impacted schools by 5:30 a.m.

We will be closed Wednesday! ❄️

We promised an update before 5 a.m. tomorrow morning, and here it is: Due to deteriorating conditions, Chesterfield County schools will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 12. Twelve-month staff should report two hours late. Per School Board Policy 2160-R, liberal leave options will be in place.

As of now, we will open at 10:30 tomorrow. Keep an eye out for possible changes to this based on CCPS.

At this time, Chesterfield County schools and school division offices will operate on a 2-hour delay Wednesday, Feb. 12. Building operations supervisors and facilities staff members should report on a regular schedule.

🔸It is important to note that continued precipitation is forecast this evening and overnight with temperatures expected to hover around the freezing mark. Because of this, we will reassess conditions and provide an update to families by 5 a.m. tomorrow morning. We know that uncertainty around school schedules is inconvenient, but our priority is ensuring we have the most accurate information to make the best decision.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin has declared a state of emergency in advance of impending winter weather, and the forecast shows snow arriving in our area tomorrow morning around the same time that students and staff would be arriving at school.

The Giving Tree Preschool, a ministry of Lutheran Church of Our Saviour (LCOS) ELCA, is seeking a part-time Preschool Director. The Giving Tree Preschool is a half-day preschool program of roughly 25-35 children, ages 2-4.
