Looking forward to welcoming our new students at orientation this week! Last week’s group was a blast!

Attention new students! We have an important notice from our lead advisor. Please take note --

We’re so excited to see you at orientation this summer! To help make your class registration experience easier, please check with Admissions or our Advising Center to make sure we have your most up-to-date transcripts. This includes both high school and any dual credit transcripts if you took college-level courses at a college or university. Without these, few (if any) changes can be made to your schedule. You can always reach out to us at [email protected] if you want to check on your transcripts.

Thank you, and welcome to EKU!

You learned all about Ellie and her love of Halloween, how about some info on our new advisor George? Here what he wants you all to know --

"As a first-generation professional and graduate of EKU from Richmond, I understand the challenges that often come with pursuing new opportunities. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is watching students overcome fears and accomplish things they once believed were beyond their reach. Success is never achieved alone. Reaching our goals requires assistance and support from many people along the way. Feel free to stop by with questions or just to say, 'Hi'."

Let's learn a little more about our new advisors!
Here what Ellie wanted you all to know --

"Hi everyone! My name is Ellie Guadarrama, and I recently earned my master’s in Public Administration from EKU. I previously earned my bachelor's degree in Spanish Teaching here as well. I am from Mount Sterling, Kentucky. A few fun facts about me are that I love cooking and trying new foods, and I enjoy watching movies - especially horror and thriller films - so I cannot wait for Halloween!

One of my favorite things about working with students is helping them find their voice and confidence through their endeavors. My advice for both new and returning students is to get involved, don't be afraid to ask questions, and take advantage of the opportunities and resources available to you!"

Hop out of your desk today and put away that notebook!
Learning is hands on here at EKU! 🤓

Here is what that immersive experience looks like in action 💪:

💫 Here you can see Nora working on an interactive class activity, helping her to dive deeper into course material.
💫 NFA students have SO many field expereince oppurtunities to learn. Food production classes, conferences, and clinical shadowing are all apart of the experience!
💫 Students in the Communication Sciences and Disorders cohort enrolled in Dr. Adria Thompsons neuroanatomy class have the opportunity to visit the skills lab in order to do practice assessment and treatment of patients with various neurological impairments. Here you can see them working with a model, but they also get to study with AI-generated clients.
