Dear Friends of Team 841,
As we celebrate Robotics National Week in our district, I wanted to share a quick update on Team 841’s season and invite you to be part of what’s next.

From our first event in San Francisco (March 13–15) to this past weekend in Berkeley (April 2–4), our students have shown what learning beyond the classroom truly looks like—applying engineering skills in real time, solving problems under pressure, and taking full ownership of their work.

That growth has translated into real success. We placed 7th in San Francisco and earned the Engineering Excellence Award, followed by our first-ever event win in Berkeley along with the Innovation in Controls Award.

Because of these efforts, we’ve secured a spot in the Northern California State Championship—and now we need your support and energy behind us.

Join us at the Cow Palace (April 9–12) to see Team 841 in action!

Come experience the excitement firsthand, cheer on our students, and witness what months of hard work, innovation, and teamwork look like on the competition field.

We’re currently ranked #15 in Northern California and #30 in the state. With only 46 California teams advancing to the World Championship in Texas, we’re working hard to make that goal a reality. Your support—whether in the stands or spreading the word—makes a real difference.

We’d love to see you there and share this moment with our community.

Richmond High community: Please see message below from music department teacher Mr. Wilke." Hey everyone, I wanted to give a big shoutout to our Music Dept. students who made it into the county honor band this year; DJ Carradine (bassoon) Gerrardo Sanchez (double bass) and Alyana Valete (tuba). This is an auditioned group made up of students from all of Contra Costa County. They were directed by Xavier Whitmore of CSU Fullerton for two days totalling over 16 hours of rehearsal and performance. Our students were the only participants from West County!!! If you have any of these students please congratulate them on their excellent work.

I also want to shout out Yerik Gonzalez for auditioning and making it into the Blue Devils C Drum Corps! We have never had a student attempt to do a drum core and it is a very competitive audition.

On 3/7/26 the marching band will be participating in the SF Chinese New Year parade! This parade is 3 miles of marching and playing continuously..."
