Public Service Announcement! The Writing Studio at Reynolds is ready to work with you during finals week 🥰

It's about that time in the semester... Come hang out with us if you need some guidance/support/accountability/place to vent 👨‍🍳 🐀 🧠

Oxford commas are funny things. AP Style (that's the style guide that many newspapers use) refuses to use Oxford commas, but other style guides prefer them. Personally, we think they provide clarity when punctuating a list, but we do understand that some writers are morally opposed to the Oxford comma. When you're writing, pick a side; either you'll use them in every list, or you won't!

It's the first week of December, and the semester is starting to wind down. We're open like normal this week, so come see us!

Em dashes are those nice, longer lines you see. They can often provide emphasis! In addition to that, em dashes can act as a great alternative to other punctuation, which can give your writing some flair. Don't forget: an em dash is NOT the same as a hyphen!
