On June 9, members of the RHHS Choral Program were honored to perform at the Georgia School Boards Association Conference held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Savannah. Performing before a packed ballroom of Board of Education members from across the state, the students proudly represented Richmond Hill High School and Bryan County Schools with professionalism and excellence.
Dr. Wooten was especially grateful to the graduating seniors and returning chorus members who willingly gave their time during summer break to make the performance possible. With many students unavailable due to summer schedules, the ensemble performed with a smaller-than-usual group of singers, which required selecting repertoire that could be effectively presented with limited vocal parts.
The performance served as a wonderful reminder that outstanding choral music is not defined by the complexity of the repertoire, but by the musicianship and commitment of the singers. These students demonstrated that even the simplest music can make a lasting impact when performed with excellence. Their performance was a testament to the idea that it is not the difficulty of the music that moves an audience; it is the heart, dedication, and artistry of the performers.
