On October 9th, Richmond Hill High School will honor a true Wildcat legend — Coach Jimmy Hires. For more than three decades, Coach Hires made an incredible impact on Richmond Hill High School as a teacher, coach, and athletic director. As the Wildcats’ head boys basketball coach, he built RHHS into a state powerhouse, leading the team to three state championships — in 1988, 1993, and 1994 — along with 12 region titles and nearly 700 varsity victories. His legacy, however, goes far beyond the wins. Coach Hires dedicated countless years to Richmond Hill students, athletes, coaches, and the community — leaving an impact that continues to be felt today.
