This year marks the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. We remember the courage of so many firefighters, paramedics, police officers, military, and passengers who sacrificed their lives to save others. We honor the memory of all the individuals who lost their lives and we continue to pray for those whose lives were changed that day.

The Ryan Hall Cornerstone was placed on July 13, 1924 and blessed by Archbishop John J. Glennon. It served as the cornerstone of Fontbonne College when the three main buildings were constructed. The cornerstone was opened on August 6, 2025 before Fontbonne University ceased operations.

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet made Fontbonne a reality and the cornerstone of Ryan Hall, dated on this day in 1924, reminds us.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Hans Helbling, a long time Professor in the Business Department. Hans retired in 2015 after 20 years of service to the university but continued to teach part-time; he impacted the lives of thousands of students.
