✨ A New Tradition✨

We are proud to begin a new FFA tradition with our Greenhand Tree in the agricultural shop. Each student who earns their Greenhand Degree leaves their mark on Richlands FFA by painting their hand green and placing their handprint on the tree as a leaf. Beneath their handprint, students sign their name, creating a lasting reminder of their hard work, dedication, and growth within our chapter.

The Greenhand Degree represents the beginning of a student’s journey in FFA, and this tradition symbolizes how each member helps our chapter continue to grow and thrive. Just like leaves on a tree, every student plays an important role in making Richlands FFA strong.

We are excited to watch our Greenhand Tree continue to grow year after year with the handprints of future FFA members at RHS.

We would like to send CONGRATULATIONS TO three of our FFA members, Mackenzie Cox, Sarah Woodard and Taylor Jones at Richlands for being selected as participants for the NC Farm Bureau 2026 Institute for Future Agriculture Leaders (IFAL) Program!

These members will be spending a week at NC State University with other FFA members across the state. Students will be developing their leadership skills, become aware of the diverse career opportunities in agriculture and learn about the importance of agriculture in North Carolina!

We are excited for these members and can not wait to hear all about their week!

Part #2:
On May 8th 2026, we hosted our annual end of the year FFA Banquet was a tremendous success as members, families, staff, and community supporters gathered together to celebrate another outstanding year for our chapter. The evening was filled with recognition, appreciation, and excitement as we reflected on the accomplishments of our students throughout the school year.

During the banquet, we proudly recognized staff members for their continued support and dedication to our agriculture and FFA programs. Students were also honored for their participation and achievements in Leadership Development Events (LDEs) and Career Development Events (CDEs). Their hard work, commitment, and willingness to represent our chapter at the local, district, regional, and state levels were celebrated throughout the evening.

One of the highlights of the evening was the election and introduction of our new FFA Officer Team. We are excited to see these students step into leadership roles and continue building upon the success of our chapter in the coming year. The banquet served as a wonderful way to close out the school year while celebrating the dedication, leadership, and accomplishments of our students and supporters

On May 8th 2026, we hosted our annual end of the year FFA Banquet was a tremendous success as members, families, staff, and community supporters gathered together to celebrate another outstanding year for our chapter. Today the Richlands FFA members competed in the Coastal Plains Chicken Show that was held in Kinston. Students competed in two classes: Showmanship (27 classes) and Breed (15 classes). These students have been working with these chickens since the beginning of Spring semester. The students had to answer questions about their chickens, identify external anatomy and show how to handle their birds.

Here are the results:
Showmanship Class:
1st Place Overall: Abby Graham
Antonio Ross, Lilly Moore and Abby Graham advanced to the second round of showmanship. Abby Graham moved to the final round of showmanship.

Breed Class:
1st Place: Nicole Cook
1st Place: Anastacia Papastrat
1st Place: Chelsey Pittman
2nd Place: Abby Good
2nd Place: Trinity Forbes
3rd Place: Antonio Ross
3rd Place: Lilly Moore
3rd Place: Annabelle Creech

Poultry Proficiency Written Test:
3rd Place: Antonio Ross
Received $5 for placing 3rd.

We are so proud of each and every single one of our members! We cannot wait for the event next year!

The Richlands FFA Chapter is currently seeking donations for our upcoming FFA Banquet Silent Auction, which will be held on May 8, 2026. This silent auction plays an important role in supporting our students by raising funds for leadership development opportunities, including conferences, conventions, and summer leadership events.

We are looking for a variety of items such as gift baskets, handmade goods, services, gift cards, or other unique contributions that would catch bidders attention and support a great cause. All donations must be received by May 7, 2026 to be included in the auction.

Your support directly impacts our students by helping them grow as leaders, build career skills, and represent our community through FFA events. We truly appreciate any contribution you are willing to make.

📣CALLING ALL FFA MEMBERS!! 📣

FFA members at Richlands High School will have the opportunity to participate in FFA Rec Camp during the month of July.

FFA Camp is a week-long camp that revolves around sports and leadership. Students will be most of the time outside during the week. Students are under the supervision of their Agriculture Education Teachers/FFA Advisors or school chaperon while attending activities at the NC FFA Center.

Our week options are:
Option #1: July13th - July 17th , 2026
Option #2: July 20th - July 24th 2026.

Non-refundable deposit of $100 due by May 15th , 2026.
