Richlands High School FFA Chapter Reporter Taylor Jones visited TMS this week to share with sixth graders and introduce them to the opportunities FFA has to offer!

Fall is coming up, so that means it is MUM SALES TIME! Our FFA program is doing our annual Mum Sale RIGHT NOW!

We will be hosting our annual mum sale until Thursday September 10th 2026. All funds through this fundraiser will help our students travel for competitions, chapter meetings, our end of the year banquet and much more!!

💙💛Recap of Washington Leadership Conference 2026 ! 💙💛

Two of FFA members, Taylor Jones and Mackenzie Cox went to Washington, D.C. for an incredible week of leadership development, service, advocacy, and learning at the National FFA Washington Leadership Conference!

Throughout the conference, members participated in sessions focused on discovering their passions and beliefs, preparing for advocacy, understanding global needs, building community, and setting goals for their futures. They had the opportunity to experience the U.S. Capitol, Washington, D.C., Arlington National Cemetery or the Smithsonian Museums, and take part in a meaningful service project.

This was an opportunity for our students to grow as leaders, serve others, explore our nation’s history, and bring home new ideas to make a difference in their school and community. 💙💛

Yesterday we came back home from the NC FFA Center at White Lake. We had a fantastic week at Rec Camp! Every single one of our kids learned something new this week and had a great experience!

This week was about growth, stepping out of their comfort zone and building life long friendships! Being surrounded by your fellow FFA members and other members from chapters across NC is something we love to see our kids experience!

We are having the BEST TIME at Rec Camp this week but whew is it hot! We have competed in competitions such as: softball, volleyball, basketball, waterball, swimming, canoeing events and much more! On top of the competitive events we are enjoying leadership time with our fellow campers and camp staff!

Throughout the week FFA chapters are recognized for their achievements. Richlands had had quite a few this week that we are proud of! Here they are:

•1st in Free Throw: Lilly Moore
•1st in 3-Point: Cooper Torrence
•1st Canoe Tug of War: Cooper Torrence & Bubba Futrell
•4th Place Overall Swim Meet: Rayleigh Neading (50 yd), Charlie Meece (3rd Place, Shallow Water Run), Bobby Tucker (3rd Place, Underwater Swim), Abby Graham and Elizabeth Mobley (4th in Swim Relay)
•Cleanest Girls Dorm: Dorm 4
•3 v 3 basketball finals (finals are tonight)

Day 3 of the North Carolina 97th State Convention is a wrap!✅

During the Fifth General Session, our very own Taylor Jones showcased her own talent with a dance routine that she choreographed and performed to the song, Hometown Glory. Great performance!

During the Sixth General Session, we had a Proficiency Award winner and State Leadership Development Event (LDE) award winner!

During the Third General Session we had some of our past and current students walk across the stage to be recognized for FFA Degrees!

Andrew will be recognized at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana in October. The American Degree is the highest honor awarded by the National FFA Organization.

We are incredibly proud of all of our FFA members and the achievements they have been to recognized for!

First day of the 97th North Carolina State Convention is in the books ✅
•
During the First General Session we were able to hear reflections from one of our FFA alumni members, and the 2024-2025 NC FFA State President, Travis Cox.
•
Our Parliamentary Procedure Team, Extemporaneous Public Speaker, and Prepared Public Speaker all competed in their first flights. Congratulations to Mackenzie Cox for placing in the top 4 and advances to the finals. She will compete today!
•
During the Second General Session, Mackenzie Cox recognized for the following:
•3rd in the State for Swine Production Proficiency Award for her SAE Project
•Recognized as being a National Delegate for 2026 National Convention
• Recipient for the Washington Leadership Conference Campership
•The NC FFA Association recognizes Richlands FFA Chapter with the 2026 Silver National Chapter Award
•
