Our last project of the year, Caribou with Birds. This was actually a lesson in color theory. Students only used primary colors to mix all the colors, including the browns. I think it is a great skill to be able to start with red, blue, and yellow and create this range. We did add white to create tints when needed. Great job, everyone!

Loving these moose done by my k-2 group! They are based on the book “Ernest, the Moose Who Doesn’t Fit,” and are supposed to be almost too big to fit on the page. 😀. Today was our last class of the year. We barely finished in time, but adding google eyes and glitter was so worth it!

My Tuesday class just completed these gouache landscapes. This project focused on color theory. We learned how the color wheel works, how to mix secondary and tertiary colors, and how to mix complimentary colors to create neutrals. Students were only given the three primary colors and white. Look at all the colors they created!

Sleeping foxes by my Thursday class. This was a lot to do in one class, but we did it! This project was really about watercolor techniques. We learned about flat washes, graded washes, and glazing.
