Music Together Tri-Cities Music Together® is a research-based, fun-filled, early childhood music program for children birth through age 5, and their parents or caregivers.

Each weekly Music Together® class is 45 minutes of jam-packed music making. Included with tuition are two take-home CDs (one for your house and one for the car!), access to the online Music Together Family Music Zone, and a beautiful illustrated songbook. The classes are family-style, meaning that parents and caregivers attend WITH their children in mixed-age classes. No need for a babysitter, bring everyone along! This type of environment builds strong bonds between families and communities, and is SUPER FUN! Your children won't even know they're developing and increasing their natural musical abilities, they'll be having so much fun...and you will be, too!

SONGBOOK CHALLENGE for anyone enrolled in our fall Mixed Age and Babies classes! Enter to win a $25 gift certificate to brandi.bakes (super yummy cupcakes and treats!!!) by emailing me the following:

1. That you sang through every song in our Bongos songbook with your child (can be done over several playtimes!)

2. See if you can figure out how many times the Dish & Spoon characters appear throughout the book

3. Tell me one of your favorite songs from this session

This fun challenge is an effort to get you learning and singing the songs at home. The more familiar you and your children are with our music, the more engaged they’ll be in class, and the more they’ll learn! 🎶

I love this photo. For me it shows the joy of a group of kids coming together to sing, dance, and learn, while being supported by their important grownups.

I love that when we enroll our children in Music Together classes, that parents and grandparents and nannies are part of the equation. That WE get a front-row seat to their learning, and discovery, and development. And yes, also to their JOY. 😊

Two Magical Moments from my classes this evening:

✨ In Rhythm Kids we talked about solos. Every child had opportunities during class to sing their own short solos. But THEN, during our quiet-stretching song at the end of class, one little boy sang an entire verse of Soleram all by himself, unprompted, and proudly proclaimed, “I did a solo!” 🥰

✨ In our Mixed Age class a baby sang her own solo (multiple times!) and the class stayed quiet in between the songs so we could all hear it!

And there were so many more! This is truly spectacular work, and I feel so blessed to sing with you and your beautiful families each and every week. 💕

There are so many wonderful benefits to making music —increased endorphins, support for cognitive, speech, motor, and social development, etc. BUT ALSO…

Making music can provide a means of self-expression for your child, giving them an outlet for their feelings and emotions. (This is especially true for drumming!) Isn’t that awesome?! Music can play an important role in your child’s overall health and well-being. 🩺🍃

PRO TIP: If your child is experiencing BIG emotions, try drumming with them! Don’t have a drum? Open up your cupboard and grab some pots and pans! As you sing and drum together, let your emotions show, too. You’ll be modeling how to express your feelings through music, and you’ll likely be surprised how much better you’ll both feel afterwards! 🥁🎶

STORY TIME! 👉 The mother of the cutie in this picture recently shared that this little one requests to sing through their 5 Music Together songbooks (yes, all 5!) at least twice per day! She said they’ve worked it out where Mom sings them with her in the morning, and Dad sings through them at night. Wow, wow, wow!

How do you use the songbooks at home? Do you keep them somewhere accessible? Have you tried making up your own words to songs using the pictures? We want to hear all about it! Tell us in the comments! 🙌

Our songbooks are such a wonderful way to extend the musical experiences we’re having in class to your home. We hope you’ll go to them often, and sing through them with the recordings or all on your own.

If you haven’t brought them out in a while, add it to your musical playtime TODAY!

Here are some of the beautiful things I noticed just this morning in our Music Together classes:

🩵 A 6 month old happily waving his arms as we sang “Hello Everybody”

🩵 A mom making room on her lap for another family’s little girl

🩵 Patience and kindness when a child was having big feelings in class

🩵 Out-of-town grandparents getting to sing and dance with their grandson

🩵 A 4yo from one family, helping a small 1yo from another family, with their jacket

🩵 Two toddlers who just met, embracing as we sang around them

🩵 Parents, grandparents, nannies, and children united as they danced together to a song from a completely different culture

Next time you’re in music class, look for the beauty and look for the good. What will you be privileged to see? 💕

Miss Ava is rocking🤘her apprenticeship! She has a different kid in her lap each week (always a good sign!), and such a bright smile and awesome attitude! Loved seeing her and this sweetheart connecting today. 🥰

I really, really enjoy mentoring new teachers. It has been an unexpected joy for me in running this program. I love seeing things “click” for new teachers, and watching them take off and run with all they are learning. I totally feed off of their enthusiasm!

Also…we have more room to grow! I would love to add even more teachers to our teaching team. Curious if it could be you? Reach out! I’d love to hear from you!
