🤓 🎹 New school year and new classes for Studio Members! Studio classes are an important part of a well-rounded musical education because they give students opportunities to learn and grow in ways that simply aren’t possible within a private lesson.
In studio class, students have the opportunity to practice performing in a supportive environment, learn music theory and connect it to what they are playing, develop a more musical ear, give and receive encouraging feedback, learn from one another, and become part of a musical community. Just as importantly, they are exposed to far more music and a much wider variety of repertoire by listening to their peers. Over time, these experiences help students become more confident performers, more perceptive musical listeners, and more generous and supportive colleagues—the kind of musicians who genuinely cheer one another on at recitals and performances! Studio class fuels the learning that happens the rest of the month in their one-on-one lessons with Mrs. Cox.
