I look at these pictures and see more than a barrel run.
I see all the days when it was just the two of us in the arena, working through something that didn’t come easily. The small improvements nobody else would notice. The moments I had to slow down, listen to her, and trust that we were building something worth waiting for.
Then there’s this turn.
I ask, and she comes with me. She digs in, brings us around the barrel, and reaches for the next stride. For those few seconds, we’re both giving everything we have to the same thing.
That’s the part that gets me. I can teach a horse where to go and what I’m asking for. But I can’t make her give me her heart. Seeing her try like this—feeling her meet me in the middle—means more to me than any picture can show.
We’re still learning. We’re still becoming the team I know we can be. And I’m grateful I get to do it with her. ❤️
