We are proud to highlight Sheridan Hills Elementary, a long-time school partner! This fall, we're excited to have Reading Corps, Math Corps, and Early Learning Corps tutors on-site to bring individualized support and skill-building to Richfield area students.

As we head into the upcoming school year, we recognize that our mission would not be possible without the wonderful tutors who have positively impacted students throughout the years. Special shoutout to Reading Tutor Thomas, who has been with the Sheridan Hills community for the past three years! He will be joined by Reading Tutors William and Gilbert this upcoming school year, along with Math Tutor Victoria and Early Learning Tutor Mihret โ€” welcome!

Thank you to Principal Yvette Garcia and local staff for helping us expand this important work to students at every stage of learning development. We are excited to help build more confident, well-rounded scholars who are ready to take on more challenges in school and beyond!

We wish you well in retirement, Mrs. Redlin! โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Œ

After 31 exceptional years, Karen Redlin is retiring from Richfield Public Schools, leaving behind a profound legacy across Spartan, Centennial, and Sheridan Hills Elementary schools. Karen initially taught 5th and 6th grade before discovering her true passion in primary education, dedicating her career to teaching 1st and 2nd grade, as well as serving as a Reading Recovery Teacher and Reading Specialist to help children develop confidence in literacy.

A proud Brooklyn Center native and U of M Gophers alumna, Karen loves sports, reading and exploring the outdoors. In retirement, she is looking forward to visiting the Redlin farm in Montana, traveling, and "having more time for the people, places, and activities that bring me joy."

Rather than naming a single favorite memory, Karen leaves our district with a deeply touching statement of hope for those continuing the work: โ€œI wish you enough patience for the difficult days, enough joy to celebrate the little victories, enough support to remind you that you are never alone, and enough meaningful moments with children to continually renew your passion for teaching. Most of all, I wish you enough love for this profession to always remember the incredible difference you make in the lives of students every single day.โ€

Thank you, Karen, for over three decades of heart, wisdom, and leadership. We wish you a beautiful retirement filled with quiet hiking trails, scenic waterfalls, and "enough" of everything wonderful!

Note: We are grateful to all of our retirees for their dedicated service and contributions to Richfield Public Schools. Each retiree featured on our website and social media channels was contacted individually and chose the level of recognition they preferred. Not all retirees opted to be recognized.

Please help us congratulate Mrs. Redlin on her retirement!

Mrs. Redlin has taught in Richfield Public Schools for 31 years. In calculating the number of little lives she impacted, we lost count at 650. That doesn't even include the years she served as an Instructional Coach and indirectly impacted all of the students in the school by helping teachers elevate their lessons.

Mrs. Redlin is a one-of-a-kind teacher and her impact to Sheridan will be felt for years to come. Her kindness and empathy are contagious. She has the uncanny skill of listening and remembering what people say so she can check in on them later. When volunteers are needed, Mrs. Redlin will be the first to reach out. She is always eager to mentor new teachers or colleagues. Her wealth of knowledge and experience is unmatched.

If your student is having a hard time, one smile and hug from Mrs. Redlin turns their whole day around. She embodies the phrase, "It Takes a Village." Mrs. Redlin cares about every student in the school, not just her own class. She never hesitates to talk to, console, or praise a student.

Mrs. Redlin, thank you for loving our students! Thank you for your time, knowledge, and invaluable skills. Thank you for considering coming back to be a substitute (๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰).

Happy World Bicycle Day from Mr. Will, our head custodian!!

Thanks to the Safe Routes to School program, our 4th and 5th grade students get to learn how to ride a bicycle and the rules of the road in physical education class every spring. Mr. Will had to test out a bike to make sure it was working properly. ๐Ÿ˜‰
