Dear Students & Parents,

I am excited to welcome our students back to school for in-person classes on Wednesday August 19th. When schools went into “soft closure” last spring I quickly came to realize how much I missed seeing our students on a daily basis. The transition to online learning was challenging for both students and teachers. Our school staff has been working hard throughout the summer to ensure that we have a plan in place to keep everyone as safe as possible as we return to face-to-face instruction. Our school reopening plan can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Wxd1fyVye3pi1rwavuN9SlzwJJJOLTe0Hjm9xK44-u8/edit?usp=sharing
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call the school and we will provide you with an answer.

As we prepare to return to in-person learning, I realize many have strong feelings regarding Governor Herbert’s mandate for masks in our public schools. Although it may be inconvenient, I want nothing more than to have our students back in classes on a daily basis. If that means wearing a mask every day, that is what I will do. Our school building presents some very unique challenges that make social distancing difficult to impossible. To keep our students and staff safe, masks will be essential.
Our school day this year has changed a bit. This year there will be separate starting and ending times for each grade level. They are as follows:

6th Grade - 7:59 to 2:54 Monday - Thursday and 7:59 to 1:19 Friday

7th grade - 7:57 to 2:52 Monday - Thursday and 7:59 to 1:17 Friday

8th Grade - 7:55 2:52 Monday - Thursday and 7:59 to 1:15 Friday

This year due to some of the constraints in place because of COVID-19 we are not hosting a 6th Grade Orientation or a Back-to-School Open House in the traditional manner. In place of these events the students will be invited to meet with their advisors prior to the beginning of the school year in a small group setting. Invitations will be sent by mail for each student. Please make sure your mailing address is up-to-date in our system. Meetings are tentatively for:

6th Grade: Thursday, August 13th [times TBA]

7th & 8th Grade: Monday, August 17th [times TBA]

For those students participating in online learning, information will be sent out virtually.

Again, I am excited to welcome you back to RHMS! I know this will be a challenging school year, but I believe that together we can make it a great year.

See you soon,

Mrs. Terry

Dear Students and Parents,

Wow! What a school year. . . it is difficult to believe it has come to an end, but it also seems as if we haven’t seen our students forever. We miss them and hope everyone is safe and healthy.

There are a few things to be aware of as the school year ends. Many students have Chromebooks and materials that need to be returned to the school. Yearbooks also need to be picked up. Below you will find the schedule to return materials and pick up yearbooks.

If you are returning a Chromebook, please make sure it is cleaned and you have the power cord with it at return. Students who return a Chromebook during the scheduled pick up time will receive a treat and can enter a drawing to win their own Chromebook. We will continue to collect Chromebooks until June 5th. If Chromebooks are not returned by that day, you will be billed for the cost of the Chromebook. If you need to make special arrangements for Chromebook return, please call our office at ]435] 896-6421.

We will be distributing yearbooks at the same time as materials return. If you haven’t purchased a yearbook, you can still buy one on a first come first serve basis. The cost for a yearbook is $30.00.
