Ever wonder why a deadline can turn "I'll get to it eventually" into "done in an hour"?

It's not magic, it's dopamine. Deadlines create a sense of urgency, and that urgency triggers a little hit of dopamine, the brain chemical tied to motivation and reward. Suddenly your brain has a reason to prioritize the task now instead of later.

Know someone who swears they "work best under pressure"? Tag them below ๐Ÿ‘‡ Bonus points if it's you.

A couple of weeks ago, we asked the team: what's your current fixation?

Turns out our coaches are just as curious, distractible, and delightfully specific as the students we support. From new shows to comfort foods to books they couldn't put down, everyone had something they couldn't stop thinking about.

Watch to meet the humans behind LifeFx, one obsession at a time. ๐Ÿ‘€

It's hot. It's humid. And somehow that water bottle is still sitting untouched on your counter. ๐Ÿฅต

For ADHD brains, hydration isn't a "just remember to drink water" problem โ€” it's an out-of-sight-out-of-mind problem. In this MN heat, that gap can hit harder and faster.

Good news: you don't need more willpower, you need a better system. Swipe through for a few that actually work. ๐Ÿ’ง

Another year of camp, another year of summer fun! ๐ŸŽ‰

Thank you to all the campers who joined us this summer. We had such a blast learning about our brains, building skills to bring home, and diving into all the fun adventures along the way!

A special thank you to Carlson's Llovable Llamas, Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society, The Works Museum, Noble Film, Erin from Stepping Stone Clinic, Damian from LifeFx, and our amazing camp counselors for helping us make camp so much fun!

We can't wait to see you all again next year! ๐Ÿ’›

Ever end the day feeling completely wiped out... but not sure what you actually finished? ๐ŸŒ€

Feeling busy and being productive aren't the same thing and our brains can trick us into confusing the two. Sometimes "busy" is actually a sneaky way to avoid the bigger, harder task we don't want to face. Answering emails feels safer than starting that big project.

Here's the reframe: those small "busy" tasks aren't the enemy. Use them as momentum โ€” a warm-up that gets your brain moving before you tackle the task that actually matters.

Ever notice how your brain clings to the first way it learned to do something โ€” even after that way stops working? ๐Ÿง

That's "first trial learning" at play. Our brains latch onto the first solution we find for a problem, and it becomes the default groove we fall back into, whether it's still useful or not.

The good news? You're not stuck. The fix isn't willpower โ€” it's creating a new first trial. Practice the new way enough times, in enough real moments, and your brain builds a new default to reach for.
