Waypoint team bonding at the AZ cardinals game!

This time last year, I was at the Arizona Cardinals stadium receiving a scholarship from the Arizona Cardinals and Honeywell. One year later, I’m back at the same stadium for Aviation Day, but this time representing Waypoint Aviation alongside an incredible team of flight instructors.

It’s hard to believe how much can change in just one year. From starting out as an independent flight instructor to now building and operating a flight school, the growth has been nothing short of incredible.

But what makes this journey even more meaningful is the people I get to share it with. I’m beyond grateful to work alongside instructors who are genuinely passionate about teaching, mentoring, and making a difference in aviation. We were only missing Peter to complete our crew!

A year ago, I was receiving an opportunity. Today, I get to be part of creating opportunities for others. 🥹

Thank you to the Arizona Cardinals and Honeywell for continuing to invest in the future of aviation and for bringing our community together. We’re so grateful to have been part of this event and can’t wait to see what another year of growth brings!

Here’s to the people, opportunities, and experiences that make this journey so special. 💙✈️

One of the hardest parts of choosing aviation has been knowing how much time it has taken away from my son.

There have been so many early mornings, long days, flights, checkrides, and hours spent building a future he’s still too young to fully understand.

But then I get to put him in the airplane with me.

I get to show him the world from a perspective so many people never experience and turn some of those sacrifices into memories and opportunities I once could only dream of giving him.

I didn’t work this hard because I wanted time away from him. I worked this hard because I wanted more for him.

Aviation takes a lot from you before it gives back.

But getting to share the sky with him reminds me just how much it can give back.

Three of our Waypoint instructors had the opportunity to connect with students at a local College & Career Fair! ✈️

We talked about flight training, aviation careers, scholarships, and most importantly helping students see that a career in aviation is possible and there are multiple paths to get there.

This is why we show up. To educate, mentor, answer questions, and help make aviation more accessible to the next generation.

Catching up on some student achievements, and this one definitely deserves its moment. ✈️💙

On July 20th, Alicia completed her first solo flight! 🥹👏

There are a lot of milestones throughout flight training, but that first solo is one you never forget. It’s the moment your instructor steps out of the airplane and you realize, I’m actually doing this on my own.

All of the studying, early mornings, challenging lessons, pattern work, and little corrections start coming together and for the first time, the airplane is completely yours.

Alicia, we are SO proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished to get here. You earned this moment! ✈️

Not really sure what the purpose of this video was 😂 but I’m clearing out the drafts, and apparently a good portion of flight training is just us laughing.

I genuinely enjoy spending time in the airplane with my students. Yes, we’re learning. Yes, we’re working toward certificates, ratings, checkrides, and careers. But we’re also making memories along the way.

Flight training is challenging enough. If you’re not having some fun while doing it, you’re doing it wrong. 😂✈️

Very grateful I get to call this “work.”
