At Richfield Public Schools, we believe every student deserves a safe trip to and from school, whether they travel on foot, by bike, by bus or by car.
Our Safe Routes to School program is helping make active transportation safer, easier and more fun for Richfield families. In fact, during the 2024-25 school year, 20% of RPS students walked or biked to school on most days - a significant increase from just 4% in 2020!
Through education, encouragement, infrastructure improvements and partnerships with the City of Richfield, we're creating more opportunities for students to get moving, build independence and arrive at school ready to learn.
Walking or biking isn't the only way to participate. Families can try remote drop-off, carpooling, a walking school bus or a bike bus. No matter how you get to school, we're working to help every student arrive safely.
