When a panic button gets pressed, what happens in the next 90 seconds determines everything.

Not whether the alert sent. Not whether the button worked. But whether the system behind it was connected enough to actually respond.

A panic button that only sends an alert still leaves administrators without visibility, leaves law enforcement without real-time location data, and leaves staff without clear direction.

Real safety requires more than a signal. It requires a system that automatically triggers response workflows, shares room-level location with first responders, and gives every team a shared operational view in real time the moment that button is pressed.

After-action reports don't lie: emergency outcomes aren't determined by whether tools exist. They're determined by whether those tools work together.

A panic button is a starting point. A connected emergency management system is what protects people.

The first 90 days bring the perfect storm for student behavior: new students, new problems carried in—family stress, break-ups, friend groups re-forming, pressure as the social order resets.

The signs show up early: a student being bullied, a spike in referrals, a noticeable behavioral shift that nobody has acted on. But the signs aren't the problem. Missing them is—and so is over- or under-reacting when you do see them.

Join Dr. Dewey Cornell, author of the widely-used CSTAG model, as he shares what effective threat assessment looks like in practice—how to evaluate a concern, distinguish between transient and serious threats, and respond at the right level of intervention.

You'll also hear practical approaches to documenting concerns, coordinating your team, and building a defensible case record that supports consistent decision-making.

Most school safety conversations start with the worst case scenario. This one starts with a simpler question: what does your district actually have in place today?

In this on-demand webinar on the first 90 seconds of a school crisis, we walked through four practical checkpoints every administrator should know the answer to:

1. Can every staff member signal an alert instantly, from wherever they are, on whatever device they have?

2. When a response is triggered, is there a seamless flow from that first alert all the way through to coordination?

3. Do first responders have eyes into your facility the moment an emergency begins—at the room level, not just building level?

4. And at any given moment, do you know exactly who is inside your building?

These aren't trick questions, but the foundation of a prepared response.

The good news is that the technology to answer yes to all four exists, and districts of every size are already putting it in place.

Watch the full on-demand webinar to see what it looks like in practice.

Alyssa's Law has been signed into law in Illinois!

This is a critical step forward in school safety, bringing Illinois one step closer to faster emergency response through silent panic alert technology.

Illinois joins a growing number of states taking action to ensure that when seconds matter, schools have the tools to respond. Want to know where Alyssa's Law stands in your state? https://hubs.la/Q04svZRX0

Nearly 1.4 million students v**e. 1 in 5 are bullied at school. And the unstructured minutes between classes—the hallway, the bathroom, the spaces no adult is watching—are where most of it surfaces first.

Charlotte County Public Schools was seeing the same issues many districts face. They decided to tackle them head on—and within two years saw a 27% drop in va**ng referrals, 17% drop in to***co referrals, a 16% drop in infractions, and a 9% drop in suspensions.

On August 12, hear directly from them on what they did—and how.

📅 Aug. 12 | 2 PM ET Who's in the hall right now?
Curbing va**ng, fights, and bullying in the unstructured minutes.

The average classroom is interrupted more than 2,000 times each year—costing students an estimated 10–20 days of instructional time.

Hall passes may seem like a small part of that problem, but every trip out of class creates another interruption. Multiply that across every student, every period, every day, and the impact becomes impossible to ignore.

A digital hall pass system helps schools:
1. Recover instructional time
2. Increase visibility into student movement
3. Reduce hallway congestion
4. Spot concerning patterns before they become bigger issues

See what schools gain when they move beyond paper passes.

Navigate360 was proud to give back at the NASRO National School Safety Conference in Reno. This year, alongside our usual conversations about school safety, our booth doubled as a backpack stuffing station.

We partnered with Volunteers of America Northern California & Northern Nevada and their Operation Backpack® program. With the help of many school resource officers, we filled backpacks with school supplies for homeless, at-risk, and foster children across the Reno region.

Thank you to every SRO who stopped by to pack a bag, and to the staff at the VOA-NCNN Women's and Family Shelter for getting these backpacks into kids' hands as they head back to school this month.

Moments like this are why we love this community.

Research shows a student's referrals in September, October, and November are significant predictors of their behavior for the entire year.

The patterns form fast. The question is whether your school is prepared to catch and address them—before a concern becomes a crisis.

This August. Two sessions. Two clocks. Two angles on student behavior your school can act on right now.

📅 Aug. 12 | Who's in the hall right now?
The everyday clock—the unstructured minutes between classes.
Rebecca Marazon, Coordinator of Psychological and Mental Health Services at Charlotte County Public Schools, shares how her district tackled va**ng, bullying, and behavioral referrals head on—cutting va**ng referrals by 27%, to***co referrals by 17%, infractions by 16%, and suspensions by 9% in just two years.

📅 Aug. 19 | Catch it at concern. Not at crisis.
The prevention clock—from first flag to case management.
Dr. Dewey Cornell, author of the widely-used CSTAG model, shares practical, applicable guidance on behavioral threat assessment—how to evaluate a concern, distinguish between threat types, and respond at the right level without over- or under-reacting.

Gun-related incidents nearly doubled as a share of school violence in just two years—climbing from 17.9% to 30.8%. Data and recent incidents have shown that faith-based school communities are not immune, and the responsibility to prepare is one no school leader can defer.

George Hunter, Director of ALICE Training®, and Dr. Allison Willemin, VP of School Safety Strategy, Technology, & Partnerships at Navigate360, have both spent years working directly with school communities navigating this exact challenge.

Join them on Tuesday, August 4 to learn what real whole-school readiness looks like in a Catholic school setting—and how to build it before the first bell rings.
