The UTD Military and Veteran Center hosted a remembrance today to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. The event included 3D-printed World Trade Center towers by Bass School at UT Dallas professor Peter McCord and students, a memorial display, a Q&A with local first responders and the “Where the Towers Stood” virtual reality project by the Bass School’s VAST Lab. Thank you to all who contributed to or visited the event.

Adam and Amine Azizi helped to develop experimental techniques that led to a National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant for Dr. Shashank Sirsi. The team is developing an ultrasound-based contrast agent that could allow doctors to monitor oxygen levels continuously in the brains of newborns with hypoxic brain injury.
