Collection for Animal Tornado Victims- Wed Dec 30 9-11 @ Glenhope
I hope you all had a blessed Christmas and are enjoying some well deserved down time.
Like many of you I am sure, I watched in horror at the destruction the tornadoes on Saturday wreaked across areas to our east.
Also, like many of you I am sure, you wonder what you can do to help.
I am in touch with several people and agencies working with animal rescue and reunification in the Rowlett and Garland areas. The initial outpouring of donations has been huge, but many of these supplies are being distributed around the area to smaller groups (vet clinics, shelters, etc.) and are just being used up as lost, scared, and injured animals continue to pour into these facilities.
In keeping with the generosity I have witnessed in our school and district, I am offering to collect any donations for these animals and take them to my contacts for distribution.
If you would like to donate, I will be at Glenhope in the front of the school Wednesday morning from 9-11am. From there I will take all collected items to drop off locations.
Some of the most requested items:
Dry and canned cat food (premium brands, no Special Kitty, Meow Mix, etc.)
Dry and canned dog food (premium brands, no Beneful, Ol' Roy, etc.)
Towels and blankets (gently used and clean or new)
Pet food bowls (clean plastic or metal)
Dog and cat toys (new or gently used)
Kitty litter (any brand)
Disposable litter boxes
Large dog crates (for 80 lbs and up)
Pet shampoo
Thank you for anything you can do for these animals until they are reunited with their families!
Please let me know if you have any questions. If this time does not work for you, please let me know and I will see what arrangements can be made.
Hope to see you Wednesday morning to Fill My Jeep!!
