JLC PRIVATE ACADEMY HYGIENE & LIFE SKILLS TRAINING WEEK.

Safe At-Home Ear Cleaning Steps:

Warm Washcloth Method: Gently wipe the outer ear (the pinna) with a soft, warm cloth after a shower.

Oil Drops Method: Tilt your head and place 2–3 drops of mineral oil, baby oil, or hydrogen peroxide into the ear canal to soften wax, leaving it for a few minutes before draining.
Irrigation Method: Use a rubber bulb syringe filled with warm water (body temperature) to gently flush out softened wax after a day or two of using drops.

Let the Shower Help: Allow warm water to gently run into the ear during a shower to naturally soften wax.

Important Safety Precautions:

Avoid Swabs: Never insert cotton swabs (Q-tips), hairpins, or any sharp objects inside the ear canal, as this can push wax deeper or damage the eardrum.

Don't Overdo It: Ears are self-cleaning, so do not over-clean them.
When to See a Doctor: Seek professional help if you experience pain, hearing loss, buzzing, or if wax buildup feels deep.

🏡 Homeschool Parents — Please Read Carefully
Don’t be fooled by the promise of $2,000 or other incentives. Before accepting anything, take the time to read exactly what you are consenting to.
Many parents are choosing homeschooling to have greater freedom over their children’s education, values, and learning environment. Because of that shift, new programs and offers are appearing that may look helpful on the surface.
However, some of these programs may come with requirements, oversight, or data access that could place your child back under systems you were trying to step away from.
As parents and guardians, it’s important to ask questions, read the fine print, and fully understand the agreements before signing or enrolling.
Your child’s education, privacy, and independence matter. Stay informed. Stay vigilant. 📚

How to Wash & Dry Your Clothes:
Do laundry in 8 simple steps:

1. Sort the Laundry: Separate clothes into piles: whites, darks, and colors to prevent bleeding. Check pockets for items and turn garments with graphics inside out.

6. Unload Promptly: Once finished, remove clothes immediately to avoid musty smells.

How to properly bath step by step instructions for children

Properly bathing children involves preparing a safe, warm environment (approx. 3 inches of water for infants, 15-minute limit), using gentle soap to wash from head-to-toe, and cleaning ge***al areas last. Always supervise children, maintain a consistent routine, and make it fun.

Step-by-Step Bathing Instructions
Preparation: Gather towels, soap, shampoo, and toys beforehand. Fill the tub with warm water—test it with your elbow to ensure it is not too hot.

Safety First: Never leave a child unattended in the water, even for a moment.

Washing Process:
Hair: Wash hair 2-3 times a week, or as needed, using tear-free shampoo.
Face: Clean the face first using only water to avoid irritation.
Body: Work from the neck down, washing arms, torso, and legs. Pay attention to skin folds, behind the ears, and between fingers/toes.
Genitals/Diaper Area: Clean this area last, wiping from front to back to avoid infections.
Rinsing and Drying: Rinse all soap off thoroughly. Pat the child dry with a soft towel, focusing on drying creases in the skin.
Post-Bath: Apply moisturizer if needed to keep skin hydrated, especially in winter.
Tips for Success
Make it Fun: Use bath toys, books, or bubble bath to keep children engaged.
Consistency: Establish a routine to make the process easier.
Independence: As they get older, encourage them to wash themselves to build confidence.

Hygiene Week: Day 2
Oral Hygiene. How to properly brush your teeth.

Step-by-Step Brushing Technique
Angle the Brush: Position bristles at a 45-degree angle to your gums.
Gentle Motion: Use short, circular strokes rather than a harsh back-and-forth sawing motion.

Clean All Surfaces: Brush the outer, inner, and chewing surfaces of all teeth.
Inside Front Teeth: Tilt the brush vertically and make several up-and-down motions to clean the back of the front teeth.
Brush the Tongue: Clean your tongue and the roof of your mouth to remove bacteria and freshen breath.
Duration: Brush for at least 2 full minutes, focusing on 30-second intervals for each quadrant of the mouth.
Spit, Don't Rinse: After brushing, spit out excess toothpaste, but avoid rinsing with water immediately. This keeps concentrated fluoride on your teeth to protect them.

Key Tips for Oral Health
Toothbrush Choice: Use a soft-bristled brush to avoid gum recession and enamel wear.
Timing: Brush at least twice a day, especially before bed. If you eat acidic foods, wait 30 minutes before brushing.
Pressure: Use light pressure, as too much force can cause bleeding or injure gums.
Replacement: Replace your toothbrush every 3–4 months.
