The results will not be certified until tomorrow, but the data on the Taylor County and Price County websites indicates that the referendum has passed. Rib Lake has much to be proud of and much to look forward to!

Thoughts and opinions are important but they don't pass referendums. If you want BETTER SCHOOLS for the students and community of Rib Lake, it's critical to get to the polls and vote!

The district doesn't have a "Plan B" ready if the referendum doesn't pass. Several different plans were already considered and adjusted after community input. The maintenance, safety, and security needs aren't going away, so it would be a rush job to figure out another option - back to the drawing board with more meetings, surveys, etc. A new referendum question would have to be submitted by August 27 for the November 5 ballot. Let's pass the referendum NOW and move forward!

We have talked to Rib Lake community members of different generations, professions, and life experiences and found a shared support for the proposed student-focused plan. STRONG COMMUNITY, STRONG SCHOOLS!

Old buildings and facilities are expensive. Improvements and upgrades will reduce operating costs. For those wondering about the cost to heat the gym, the current wood boiler system is working at only 40% of its capacity and can handle the additional space. The cost is expected to be around $3200 more per year (2-3 truckloads of wood chips).

It's tough to get two people to agree on everything let alone a whole community! We'll never all agree on every detail, but the plan we're voting on is SOLID and it's a GOOD WAY forward for our kids and community.

We've heard a lot about our oldest buildings - the middle and high schools - but what about the elementary? It's already 25 years old! The referendum covers all capital maintenance needs and facilities plans for the elementary school.

**BE SURE TO CLICK THROUGH TO SEE THE SIZE OF THE PROPOSED GYM COMPARED TO OTHER SCHOOLS AND THE COST IMPACT.** The gym...it's not the main event of the referendum, but we've heard many questions about it so we are addressing it. We hope this brings some clarity to why the gym is being relocated.
