How to Help Your Child Who Feels Down: A Training for Parents

12 p.m. OR 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 26

We all feel down and blue from time to time, but some people can get stuck feeling that way. When this happens to our children, it can be really hard for them, and for us as their concerned parents. This two-part class will teach you the knowledge and research-based skills to help your child feel better.

In particular, you will learn:
What mood is
What factors influence mood
How to help your child improve their mood

This class is intended for parents of children who feel a little down. If your child struggles with more serious depression, please contact a mental health professional or school counselor.

Oneida County Teen Court is recruiting Teen Court Panelists for the upcoming year!

Teen panelists play an important role in a peer-led justice program that helps first-time youth offenders take responsibility and move forward positively. As a panelist, you’ll:

✅ Interview youth and families
✅ Help assign fair, restorative consequences
✅ Learn about the court system and local government
✅ Build leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
✅ Earn volunteer hours and letters of recommendation

Who can apply?
Students entering grades 9–12 who are responsible, reliable, and interested in helping other teens.

Meetings are held about once a month at the Oneida County Courthouse or Lakeland Union High School.
