A huge THANK YOU to The Perky Pup Coffee Co. and Leila Jo’s On the Go for supporting the Jeff Tech Backpack Program!

We truly appreciate both of these local businesses for taking the time to bring their coffee and food trucks out and help raise money for our program. Your support helps us continue providing food and other assistance to Jeff Tech students and families throughout the school year.

We also want to thank everyone who stopped by, grabbed a coffee or something to eat, and supported these fundraisers. Every purchase and donation makes a difference!

We’re fortunate to have businesses and community members who are always willing to step up and support our students.

Jeff Tech Welding students were given the opportunity to work outside of the traditional school setting and gain valuable field experience by applying their classroom knowledge in a real-world environment.

Before work began on-site, students pre-fabricated many of the project components, including 110 feet of handrails, three stairways, three window frames, and one man door. This preparation helped reduce the amount of fabrication and welding required in the field. Students also participated in cross-training with the Engineering program, where they learned CAD design and helped create the containment burn chamber that was later installed in the fire training structure.

In addition, students collaborated with the Advanced Manufacturing program to create inserts for the handrails, allowing multiple sections to be connected into one continuous handrail system. Throughout the project, students applied academic mathematics skills, including the Pythagorean Theorem, to ensure the stairways were constructed at accurate angles by properly calculating the rise and run of each step.

Working outside of the school environment provided students with firsthand experience of real job-site expectations and conditions. They learned to adapt to changing weather conditions and solve unexpected challenges, such as repositioning stairways to ensure they were installed at the correct angle.

Students were reminded that while working in public, they represented both Jeff Tech and themselves. They embraced the responsibility that comes with demonstrating professionalism, strong work ethic, and pride in their craftsmanship.

The completed fire training structure will provide firefighters with a realistic environment to practice Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) operations, search and rescue tactics, firefighter bailout procedures, and coordinated teamwork during live-fire training scenarios. The facility will also support training opportunities with mutual aid fire companies throughout the region.

Our Jeff Tech competitors have returned home from the National SkillsUSA Championships, and we couldn't be more proud of their outstanding accomplishments!

Chase Smith, a 9th-grade student, competed in Automotive Maintenance & Light Repair and earned an impressive 22nd place finish in the nation out of 40 competitors!

Molly Nolf competed in Post-Secondary Welding Sculpture and brought home an incredible 4th place finish in the nation out of 28 competitors!

These national competitions showcase the very best skilled students from across the country, and both Chase and Molly represented Jeff Tech with professionalism, determination, and pride.

We are SO INCREDIBLY PROUD of these students for their hard work, dedication, and accomplishments. The talent, skill, and commitment they demonstrated on the national stage are truly remarkable. Congratulations, Chase and Molly! Your Jeff Tech family is celebrating with you!
