We are a Montessori school serving children from 3-6 years old. We are a small school with a consistent teaching staff each year.

Children's House Montessori School of Reston, VA is a private preschool with certified Montessori teachers and a highly engaging curriculum for ages 2.5-6 years old. We have two classrooms of blended age groups - preschool (3 year olds), pre-K (4 year olds), and Kindergarten (5-6 year olds). What an awesome last day of school before Winter Break at Children's House Montessori School! Children came in pjs and had so much fun with special crafts and activities. Then, parents and grandparents came to watch a musical presentation in each class. They also got to do a bunch of super fun holiday and winter inspired crafts with their children. Happy Holidays to all!

What a fantastic parent community we have at Children's House Montessori School! Yesterday parents treated us to an absolutely delicious breakfast and each teacher received wonderful gifts. We had a special musical presentation yesterday at Children's House Montessori School! Ms. Keturah's husband, Mr. Henry, came and showed us a couple of super cool drums! The children are studying percussion instruments as part of our new Music Program, and listening to these drums was a real treat! The children learned about the drums' sounds and the different ways they can be played. A major bonus was playing "Wipe Out" with Mr. Henry using our egg shakers! Thank you Ms. Keturah and Mr. Henry for this awesome presentation!

We are still exploring the amazing art of Degas and the children learned about his iconic sculptures. So the Kindergartners worked on creating clay sculptures of their own! What a fantastically fun project!

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Today we had our annual Thanksgiving Potluck Feast! It was just splendid! So wonderful to see all our special CHMS families gathering together to enjoy a delicious meal. The children were so excited! Thank you to all our fantastic parents and grandparents for bringing amazing dishes and treats! The best way to start the Thanksgiving holiday week!

About CHMS

We are proud to say we are the BEST Montessori program in Reston! At the heart of our authentic Montessori program is a love of nature and exploring the natural world, an emphasis on Peace Education, and a diverse community of families and staff.

We are a small, family-centered school, with two Primary classrooms, for ages three to six. We offer Spanish and musical yoga classes weekly and have access to the great outdoors through our natural playground and hiking trails that extend into the wooded area behind our school. The children spend time outside running, climbing, digging, and exploring, and enjoying the variety of wildlife that visits us on our beautiful property in Reston, Va.

We offer a comprehensive art education program, a gardening program in the fall and the spring, field trips for the kindergarteners, and monthly parent education events. We offer a variety of family events throughout the year and welcome parent involvement and participation!
