💭 Thinking about it helps. Trying it tells you more.

This summer, we watched high school students from South Carolina discover things about themselves through action:

One discovered they want to lead through SkillsUSA South Carolina. Another started after hands-on work experience. One found she loves multiple paths simultaneously. Another committed to her passion after intentional exploration.

These opportunities exist thanks to partners like South Carolina Future Makers opening doors for students.

But none of those students knew these things before they tried.

As parents and educators, we often focus on and planning. But the real clarity often comes from doing. From exploration. From letting young people try things and learn from the experience.

This school year, consider: How can you create space for young people to try, explore, and discover, not just plan?

Their answers: research your options, be patient, stay open, explore your interests.

They don't need us to have all the answers. They need , exploration, and permission to take their time. These are the voices worth listening to.
