LearningRx Reston
LearningRx works with kids and adults, improving the core cognitive skills the brain uses to think,
When memory, attention, reading, or comprehension skills are weak, learning and life can be harder than they need to be for children and adults. At LearningRx, our brain training programs target and train these weak skills using a series of intense (but fun!) mental exercises that work on the way the brain learns, thinks, remembers, and performs. Clients work one-on-one with their own personal brain trainer, which is a big part of what makes us so unique and our results so effective.

Your child is suddenly begging to stay home, melting down over breakfast, or telling you their stomach hurts every single morning.
Maybe you’re standing in your kitchen trying to get them out the door, wondering whether this is “normal kid stuff” or something more.
If that's where you find yourself this school year, here's what you need to think about: https://shorturl.at/cOhKz

Is your child's brain ready to meet the demands of a new school year? If you have any doubts, here are some important things to start doing now...
👉Prioritize sleep. That's when toxins are cleared and memories are stored, so kids need all the support they can get.
👉Get into an eating routine. Food is not a free-for-all in school settings, so helping your child get into meal and snack routines that mimic what they'll have during the school year will help limit the munchies and hunger-related distractions.
👉Find an organization plan that will actually work. Not what you "hope" will work or what you want to force your family into... something you can all actually stick with.
👉Set aside time for connection. There can be BIG feelings about a new school year, so take time to hear how your child is feeling and reinforce your connection before it starts.
👉Assess brain skills. Just like the body needs a sports physical before getting cleared to participate in athletics, the brain should be measured and tested to make sure it's up for the job of learning. At LearningRx, we can help you pinpoint where potential sticking points might be this school year and make a plan before there's a problem.

Cognitive skills like processing speed, memory, attention, and reasoning are all interconnected. A bottleneck in any of them creates a ripple effect across academics, even in subjects where your child is naturally strong.
This is why our approach is so important... we're not just teaching coping strategies to work around weak skills; we're building the skills themselves so learning can become easier, faster, and better.
We regularly hear from families who have worked with the school or adapted their homeschool curriculum to accommodate for issues with memory, focus, processing speed, or reading...
And while these are helpful in the moment for getting kids through the school day, it's important to consider 👉 How are these accommodations preparing your child for life?
What if instead you targeted the root cause of their struggles and built up the skills that were weak so they could think and learn more confidently & independently?
If this sounds like something you want for your child, don't put off getting them the help they need. Our cognitive skills assessment can shine a light on where their brain is hitting a roadblock in learning and how you can support their continued growth!
