This week we read Mrs Wishy Washy’s Farm which is a cute story about some animals who run away to the city because they didn’t like all the baths she gave them, and they got themselves in trouble in the city and she came back to rescue them (and give them a bath!). Some kids have the story down pat and had fun acting out scenes and repeating phrases and laughing hysterically. We brought the book to our art time and stomped the animals in paint like the book, marble rolled animals, and painted pink pigs. Plus other fun activities!

Happy first week of preschool 2023 is under our belt! A bit of fun, learning routines, exploring, and getting to know our new friends.
Day two (first day for some) was fantastic!
First day of preschool was a success!
Excited to get a sneak peek at our new class tomorrow!
Getting ready for our first day of school! I just returned from a fabulous vacation and now prepping for an exciting school year. We are thankful to be starting out with full enrollment!
One week of summer camp left!!! Thank you to all who have chosen to spend some weeks with us 🥰
Final “camping” week combined with lots of bugs. Camping snacks included s’mores, build your own fire, and dirt and worms. We collected and studied many bugs, made butterflies, and swatted those mosquitoes! A little bit of inside doing a bug puzzle after lunch, and lots of Lego creating.
We had a fantastic HOT week of camping at camp! We went on a nature hunt and stuck our nature in playdough, we made campfire snacks, made lanterns, slept in tents and identified nighttime camping noises, and of course stayed hydrated and had lots of water fun!
Fun with a camping theme this week! We had marshmallows on sticks, crafted and built campfires, set up tents, told “spooky” stories and played with flashlights, and did some good old digging in the dirt and splashing in mud puddles! Sorry parents, they ALL want to go sleep under the stars and have real fire now…
This hot week calls for lots of water play!
Super short HOT week! We finished up our ocean theme and started our hot day ritual of the popsicle song and an ice pop to transition us inside to dry and cool off.
Another fun week of camp. We talked about space, made some rockets, and a fizzy moon. We got messy making ooblek, and wet in the sprinkler on our one warm day! We also made the Daddies a little gift, and read lots of stories.
First week of Summer Camp 2023, and I think it may have been the coolest start ever! We didn’t take out water play until day 3, but still had fun outside exploring and playing, meeting new campers, and getting used to the change in camp schedule. This was Desert week and we read books about the desert, made rattlesnakes and cactuses. Next week we will continue desert week two and welcome more new summer friends!
Thanks to all who came out this morning to our annual Freetown Friends School EOY party!! Thank you Avery's Amazing Arts for joining the fun and painting faces. We had an amazing school year and excited to kick off our 20th year of Summer camp on Tuesday! (That’s a LONG time but I’m hoping for the energy and good health for 20 more years!)
This week we have been reading books about birds/ building nests, children ate a nest snack with eggs, and found items around the yard and created our own nest!
We also sent home a lovely project for Mother’s Day, read Mother’s Day books, learned a special song, and played our mama/ baby matching game.
We were busy, and I didn’t get many photos. Prepping for MOTHERS DAY and continuing working on our letters, and always developing our friendships and learning to use our words!
4 more weeks of school, and we finished the alphabet! We had a lovely week enjoying the great outdoors, using scissors and glue and creating zebras, painting, playdough, building, reading, and baking zoos with our snacks.
Y is for yogurt!! Big hit for the kids. They wore it well! We also made Earth day projects and played with playdough to make their own take home Earth.
Happy Earth Day!!!
What a beautiful week to get started on our Earth Day celebrations! We sang an Earth Day song, ate a lot of seeds and seeded veggies and fruits, and tried our hand at planting some.
Easter egg hunt fun!!
We had a lovely week getting ready for Easter/ Spring Break, and learning with the letter W! We dug for Worms, read books about worms and whales, listened to whale sounds, ate and created watermelon art, and lots of Easter prep!
V is for vacuum, volcano and vegetables! We erupted volcanoes, made playdough volcanoes, ate and charted our vegetable preferences, and had a great week!
Last week we had a photographer come to preschool and take some adorable Spring photos! While I can’t get every child to cooperate, there were some children very happy to put on a happy smile. Thank you Kriansh Kreative Photography for getting some wonderful photos.
S is for strawberries and seaweed!! And SPRING, or a nice peek into spring… We sang a lot of songs, made snakes, ate snacks, and played outside in the warm weather. Happy March 🌸
We had a great short week and enjoyed some amazing weather! Now I hear a snowflake may be coming this weekend, but here’s to shirt sleeves in February.
We had a great week celebrating Valentines Day, a birthday, and some fake spring weather before the rain.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!! We made gingerbread men, ate jelly sandwiches for the letter J, and had so much fun playing outside after the rainy start to the week.
I is for ice cream and ice painting!
I know not all celebrate the season in the same way, but this is a fabulous hands on experience that my own family has enjoyed many years to celebrate Christmas in a unique way.
A gorgeous fall week! Not pictured, but we talked about Thanksgiving and all the things we are thankful for, and explored the letter G!
Happy Halloween (week)! Halloween dress up, Halloween puzzles, snacks, books, and songs. Sorry some of our friends were sick this week and missed the fun.
