You've probably asked AI to help you brainstorm an essay or prep for an interview. The harder question is whether the final version still sounds like you.

Admissions teams are seeing more AI-assisted applications than ever. The ones that stand out aren't always the most polished. Often the quirks, the uncertainty, and the parts of your story you're still working out are what help a committee see who you really are.

In the latest episode of Inside the GMAT, host Zach talks with Hannah Artis, Senior Director of Graduate Admission, and Frank Fletcher, Senior Director of MBA Programs at the University of San Francisco School of Management. They cover where AI can strengthen your application and where leaning on it too much starts to cost you.

Hannah and Frank also share practical advice if you're still figuring out your story, your goals, and your "why."

Which are the best Master’s in Business Analytics programs?

Each year, QS publishes rankings of business master’s programs based on surveys of academics, employers, and business school staff.

Programs are scored across five categories, including employability, alumni outcomes, value for money, thought leadership, and class and faculty diversity.

Business schools in the US dominate the top 10 in this year’s QS MSBA ranking, with six universities represented, followed by France and the UK, which both have two.

An MBA isn’t just an investment in your next job. It can be an investment in the next five, ten, or even twenty years of your career.

In a recent episode of Inside the GMAT, Sandra Richez, Global MBA Program Director at EDHEC Business School, describes an MBA as an “insurance policy” for your career including skills, knowledge, and capabilities that stay with you no matter where your professional path takes you.

If you’re thinking about business school, the question may be bigger than “What will I do after graduation?” It might be: What do I want to be capable of five or ten years from now?

Your MBA application has a lot of jobs to do. Your essays tell your story, and your recommenders speak to your impact. But when admissions committees are reading through a global pool of applicants with very different backgrounds, they also need a way to compare everyone on the same terms.

This is where test scores fit in. In a new U.S. News & World Report piece on what to know before pursuing an MBA, Kailin Burns, Director of Market Development, Americas at GMAC, explains, "A strong GMAT score can meaningfully sharpen an application. It signals readiness for a rigorous, data-driven curriculum and gives admissions committees an apples-to-apples data point across a diverse pool of applicants."

She also points out that a score works best alongside a compelling personal narrative. And applicants who start test prep and self-reflection early "tend to have more room to iterate on both."

The article also covers program formats, concentrations, cost, and how to think about the potential career payoff. It's worth a read if an MBA is on your horizon. Find the link in the comments below.
